With so many quests to complete in Dying Light: The Beast, some players might be wondering: Does the game have a Racing mini-game with trophies/achievements? The answer is: Yes, it has! For those wondering how to unlock the racing challenges in Castor Woods, there are a few necessary steps they need to take before being able to enjoy this full-throttle action through the zombie-infested circuits of this woodland sandbox.
This guide offers a complete overview of how to unlock The Fast and Fortunate Sub-Quest in Dying Light: The Beast, as well as some useful tips to beat all the challenges and earn the Gold Medals to unlock the achievements/trophies.
How To Start The Fast and Fortunate in Dying Light: The Beast
To unlock the Racing Challenge side quest in Dying Light: The Beast players, players must unlock the Efficient Driving and Collision Expert Skills. After unlocking these improved driving skills, return to the Farmlands Area and cross the road that borders the Villa Area. There, players can find a Quest Marker, and if they approach, they will notice a crashed truck with someone asking about the status of the driver. Clear the zombies around it, pick up the comms, and follow up the mysterious voice to the actual Quest Giver, which is located in a Car Shop near Nate Market (Dark Zone).
Inside the garage, Kyle can meet Travis, a truck race organizer who has come up with a lovely idea on how to pass the time during the apocalypse: Truck rally racing. That would sound incredibly fun, if not for the fact that the entirety of Castor Woods has been taken over by deadly Infected that will destroy the truck at the slightest chance.
Still, Kyle Crane is up to the challenge, and so will be the players if they want to collect the final Mysterious Reward that Travis promises those who complete all the circuits. But first, the Qualifiers: A trial by fire that all players must overcome before moving on with the following challenges.
Each circuit of The Fast and Fortunate is unlocked after players beat the challenge and accomplish at least the 'Bronze' category. After each successful trial, wait a full day until Travis contacts Kyle Crane again and sets up the next course.
Tips To Win Every Track Race Challenge in Dying Light: The Beast
Every track of The Fast and Fortunate carries its own difficulty level. Some of them have steep curves, others have vicious obstacles placed around (like cars on fire, barriers, and even large infected stopping the routes), so dodging them all is nearly impossible. At some point, players are going to crash into something, unless they are extremely lucky or skilled at driving, so here are a few tips to beat every Racing Challenge in Dying Light: The Beast:
- Focus on reaching each of the goals at full speed, and don't worry about crashing into the smaller infected.
- Avoid big infected at any cost. If players need to decide between crashing with a smaller infected or a Brute, then pick the lesser Zombie.
- Be careful of Gas Tanks, though, as they can stick to the car hood and explode, breaking the truck.
- Pressing 'F' (PC) will respawn the vehicle if stuck or broken. In case players are stuck, they don't have to doubt and press the Respawn button quickly to resume racing.
- As long as players reach at least Bronze in each challenge, they will be able to unlock the next track.
