To complete all missions in Dying Light: The Beast, players will need to search far and wide through Castor Woods, seeking to help their inhabitants, and sometimes, stopping them from doing dangerous things. Hydro-Puzzle is a long quest, with tons of tricky turnarounds, and players might get a bit dizzy before they can complete it.
This guide will help players clear out this Secondary Quest, as well as discover all hidden objectives and Safe Combinations to claim all the available loot, and speed up the process of finding out what happened with the Water Supply in the Town Hall.
How To Start Hydro-Puzzle in Dying Light: The Beast
Hydro-Puzzle is a secondary quest that becomes available when players complete the Dying Light: The Beast Power Gambit Main Story Quest, and activate the first Relay Station (located east of the Town Hall) when Pietro calls for help through the Coms. After wandering around the Old Villa area, he will ask Kyle for some extra help with checking up on the water supply that has been acting up lately.
Players will need to head down to the Water Pumping Station, find a way inside the building, and deal with the Infested blocking the way to the Water Pump controls. After fiddling with the valves and checking the pressure gauge, Pietro and Kyle will talk through the coms and learn that the issue must be elsewhere.
Next, head to the Water Repairs Facility, and look for a way inside. Players can climb on the scaffolding next to the building, and into the terrace, where they will see an open air duct through which they can enter. Once inside the building, deal with the infected and proceed until finding a small office with a Sage. The right combination for it is 27 - 1 - 15, and contains a some valuables and a key for the Chief Engineer's Office.
Proceed to the marker, eliminate the Virals going around the hallways, and check inside the office to witness a cutscene. Pietro and Kyle will talk through the coms once more, trying to figure out what the problem is that has interrupted the water supply in the Town Hall. The Map of the Water Network indicates that the next destination is the Sewer Maintenance Point.
Exit the building and pick up the nearby Castor Woods Ranger truck to race to the Sewer entrance. The entrance is near the Town Hall area, and by following the marker, players can pinpoint the exact location of the door leading to the tunnels they need to check. They need to locate the next series of pressure valves, so once they drop through the ladder, they will need to pinpoint the exact location by roaming around the zombie-infested sewers.
Once players have spotted the water pressure meter and the yellow pipe, they will hear a sound that reveals the existence of humans inside the sewers. Kyle figures out that someone needs help, since the beats are rhythmic and sound like an SOS. So, now players need to follow the yellow pipes, dodging or killing the infected to clear out the way. Make way through the sewers until spotting a small office, and get inside to read the note that says that the 'safe combination can be revealed with a special lantern.' Players need to point their UV Light to the wall where the note is to reveal a code for a safe located nearby.
The code for the safe is 21 - 69 - 35, and there are some Valuables and a Medkit inside. Pick them up and keep following the Yellow Pipes until reaching a big area, crawling with zombies. Dispose of all of them, and check on the upper level to figure out the source of the noise.
Turns out the Chief Engineer of the Water Network and his family have been holding out the apocalypse inside the sewer's maintenance room, and he cut the water supply in a desperate attempt to draw any survivors' attention to the water network, to see if anyone could rescue him or his family. Kyle recognizes this did the trick, and promises to clear the way out for the Engineer, his son and wife.
Next, proceed to the path on the left side and clear the way out. Be careful with the electric cables dropped on puddles of water, and slay every last enemy in the area to complete the last objective of Hydro-Puzzle. Once Kyle opens the path to the outside, people from the Town Hall will come to take the Engineer and his family out of the complex, and players will receive 10000 EXP, the Bruiser Bracer, and 2x Beginner Manual Pages for the trouble.
