Guns are the safest way to kill zombies in Dying Light: The Beast, but ammo for them is scarce. Weapon ammunition can only be found at military convoys throughout Castor Woods in Dying Light: The Beast, so you'll need to make every shot count.
While melee weapons are still the primary focus of Dying Light, it's incredibly helpful to have a loaded gun in your inventory in case of emergencies. Fans love guns in Dying Light so much that they got Techland to add them to Dying Light 2 following their absence at launch, and now firearms are back again in The Beast. Here's where you can find convoys and stock up on ammo in Dying Light: The Beast.
Dying Light: The Beast Devs Already Have Ideas for a Fourth Game in the Series
Dying Light developers Techland reveal it already has ideas being thrown around for a fourth game in the series after 'The Beast' releases this month.
Where to Find Convoys for Ammo in Dying Light: The Beast
Military convoys are the main way to get ammo in Dying Light: The Beast. Found all throughout Castor Woods, these abandoned convoys have locked trucks containing bullets, medical supplies, and other rare resources. You can see military convoys marked with a truck icon on your map.
You'll have to find them before they get added to your map, however. Most of them are locked in the wilderness surrounding the Old Town and other urban areas. You'll likely come across a few as you drive between quests. The Mountain Path Convoy found along the road to the east of the Old Town is one of the first you can find. It's right next to a safe zone.
Once you reach a convoy, you need to get the trucks unlocked. You can open them with Convoy Access Cards carried by infected soldiers loitering nearby. Each soldier carries one Convoy Access Card, so you need to slay all of them to loot every truck.
Soldier zombies will despawn like normal infected if you leave them on the ground for too long, so make sure you loot their Convoy Access Cards as soon as you kill them.
When you obtain a Convoy Access Card, approach the back of a truck and use it to get inside. The unlocking animation takes a few seconds, so make sure the area is clear. Each truck contains three items on average, including bullets, healing items like Morphine, and even weapons.
Convoys refresh regularly in Dying Light: The Beast, so check back often to find new infected soldiers carrying new Convoy Access Cards that'll get you even more rewards. You can also buy ammo from vendors in major settlements if you have the cash. However, Bullets are expensive, so you'll have to farm money to afford them in the early stages of the game.
