American McGee's Alice is one of the most twisted video games fans can check out with a tantalizing take on the classic Alice in Wonderland story. With a sinister edge and mature visuals, it's easy to see why this game became such a cult hit.

EA decided to publish a sequel, Alice: Madness Returns, to this title that brought back this version of Alice in the nightmarish world of Wonderland once again. Using her trusted knife to take out multiple enemies while dodging blows makes for a fun combat loop, even if it might get repetitive at times.

The parkour in Mirror's Edge is one of the best parts of the game, with players loving how smooth it felt to land jumps and wall runs without breaking Faith's legs or her momentum. During her adventures, this Runner will encounter several enemies who stand in her way and must be beaten down.

Using Faith's momentum to enhance the damage of her attacks while weaving past enemy bullets is a huge part of what makes the melee combat in Mirror's Edge so special. It may not be the best part of the experience, but it's engaging enough to give players a break from the relentless and challenging parkour gameplay.

While Mirror's Edge Catalyst is overall a worse game than its predecessor because of the puzzling decision to integrate an open world, it improved on other aspects of the first game. Combat felt more fluid and guns were removed altogether to make melee attacks a priority.

This was a good change, with Faith dashing around to slide tackle enemies and then barrage them with punches. The best part about Catalyst's combat system is that it's simple yet engaging enough to let players enjoy a sense of satisfaction whenever they emerge victorious in a tough melee encounter.

Dragon Age_ The Veilguard Takedown on Wraith

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has its fair share of problems that alienated many fans, but one part that did not was a major improvement on the series' combat. While players miss the tactical combat present in Origins, other fans who don't mind the shift to an action-packed real-time combat system will love the changes made to The Veilguard.

Controlling a single character in battle can be a burden, but The Veilguard accounts for that with satisfying combat and a massive skill tree that helps players form unique builds. The combination of regular attacks, abilities, and companion assists ensures that combat in The Veilguard remains fresh and engaging from start to end.

Electronic Arts are no strangers to top-quality games, and these ones are even better when played with a friend.

Players will love nailing dodges, parrying attacks, and using the Force to show enemies who's boss. Swinging a lightsaber around to tear enemies apart is a blast every single time and makes it clear why so many people loved Fallen Order despite its buggy launch.
