Players around the world have been getting a healthy dose of football since the release of EA Sports College Football 25, the first collegiate-level game in over a decade, which comes before the big leagues of Madden 25. It's a great opportunity for players to hone their craft with some of the best teams in the country, and pull off some unforgettable plays in front of manic crowds.
Some of the most exciting moments ever seen on the gridiron have been the come-from-behind, spur of the moment plays that are drawn up on the run. If players can get an understanding of how to use hurry-up offense and skip huddles in clutch periods of games, then they too can create some magic on the field.
College Football 25: How to Only Play Offense
Players can simulate the defensive periods of a game so they can focus on fine-tuning their attacking skills in College Football 25.
How To Perform Hurry-Up Offense in College Football 25
There are a number of game situations that may call for the offense to bypass getting into a huddle to devise a new play and simply call one on the go. Most commonly, this is used when a team is in possession and are behind on the score with little time left on the clock. With that said, it's also a great strategy that limits substitutions, creates fatigue in the defense, and can cause confusion in the defense's play selection. Regardless of the intent, this play will generally crank up the pressure on the defense at times when it is crucial that they remain steadfast.
To perform hurry-up offense and skip getting into a huddle, players need to hold the Triangle/Y button at the end of a play, before the play selection options appear on-screen. This will force both the offense and defense to quickly reset, from which you can select one of the audible play options to run, including the options to reset or flip the play, which will give you a quick idea of the type of pass you might need to complete the play successfully. As usual, you can see the route running diagram by holding R2/RT before the ball is released.
When To Skip Huddles in College Football 25
Players can skip huddles at any point in a match, but there are some game scenarios where it makes more sense to do it than others. In particular, hurry-up offense is best used when the clock is against you, whether that be towards the end of the second or final quarter, particularly if you are not in the lead. If this is the case, the best outcome for your team, aside from scoring on the next play and celebrating with your teammates, is to get the ball into the hands of a runner and take it over the sideline to stop the clock.
With that said, a hurry-up offense can be used at any point in time to try and catch the defense off guard or prevent tired players from being substituted. If you have as much trust in your quarterback's skills as your coach does, then this can be a game-changing strategy that can lead your team to victory.
