EA Sports College Football 26 will be released on July 10, 2025, with an early access period starting July 7 for players who purchase the upgraded Deluxe Edition. The official announcement of the next installment in the college football series proves that EA Sports College Football 25 wasn't just a one-time deal, and EA is committed to providing fans with more collegiate action.

The prestigious football franchise got its start in 1993 with Bill Walsh College Football for the NES, Sega Genesis, and Sega CD, which featured just 24 collegiate teams. Walsh's name was dropped after the first two installments, but the series produced 21 games in its initial run, with a new release every year through 2013. Last summer, the release of EA Sports College Football 25 marked a return for the popular franchise after 12 years of dormancy.

As announced on the game's official website, the next entry will be arriving in July for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Not much has been revealed yet regarding the next entry's features, but EA is promising players a closer look in a full reveal planned for sometime in May. Along with College Football 26, EA has also announced the release date for Madden NFL 26 for August 14, and players wanting to bundle both games together can do so through the EA Sports MVP Bundle, which is available for preorder on both platforms for $149.99 through April 29. Both Standard and Deluxe editions of College Football 26 will be available.

Last year's return of College Football left it with mixed reviews from fans despite a dozen years of built-up anticipation. Some of the disappointment was centered around the gameplay itself, while other fans were left feeling put out by a lack of missing features from previous games in the series. These included the omission of College Football' s Mascot Mode and the Road to Glory high-school games that could lead to a player being scouted by universities. Fans may want to pay attention to next month's presentation to get a better look at how EA plans to flesh out this year's installment.

There is still no word about College Football 25 appearing on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, or last-generation consoles. The lead-up to Nintendo's next console release in July has revealed that Madden games will be included in the Switch 2 third-party game catalog, and while a recent reveal has added Madden NFL 26 to that list, College Football 26 seems to only be appearing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
