How to Score from Corners in FC 25

A huge misconception about corners is that you only need to cross the ball inside the box and pray that your central player scores a header. This is a common mistake that many beginner players make when they first start the game.

With proper techniques and knowledge about taking a corner properly, every player can convert these set pieces into goals. Selecting the right target players is the first step in setting your corners up for success.

Go to your team management, and then, by pressing LB/L2, head to the Assignments section, scroll down to Corner Kick Instruction Target Player, and pick the player with the highest Jumping and Header stats. This will be the target player in the center of the box waiting for the ball from your corner taker.

Once you have set the target player, it is time to learn how to convert each corner kick to a goal. If you are using a right-foot player on the right corner or a left-foot player on the left corner who will be curling the ball toward the outside of the box, all you have to do is aim slightly away from the keeper and then use the right stick to gently modify the curve. Once set, cross the ball inside the box with three bars of power, and your target player inside the box will be ready to head it inside the post.

If you use a right-foot player on the left corner or a left-foot player on the right corner, you must aim it outside the inner box, near the penalty spot. Once set, cross the ball using exactly three power bars, and your header will be ready. If your corner taker has a high curve rating, you must aim the ball more towards the outside to ensure it reaches the target player.

How to Score Free Kicks in FC 25

Scoring from free kicks requires you to aim your shots towards the top corner of the post and adjust your curve accordingly. It is highly recommended that a player with the Dead Ball or Dead Ball+ playstyle be used, as they are the free-kick specialists in the game.

When a left-footed player takes a free kick on the left side, use the right stick to make an "Inside Foot Curled" shot with three bars of force, aiming your shot above the leftmost player of the wall and placing your curve on the leftmost corner of the curve box. When shooting with a right-footed player on the left side, aim above the right-most players of the wall curves towards the right-most corner of the curve box. Then, use three bars of power to make the shot.

The method is similar if you take your free kick from the right side of the post. Aim over the player on the right and curve on the right-hand corner of the curve box for players with a right foot; aim over the player on the left and curve on the left-hand corner of the curve box for players with a left foot. For every shot to be powerful enough to enter the post, it needs to be taken at three power bars.

How to Score Penalties in FC 25

To score penalties, the only thing you have to do is time your shots and aim them precisely. Try to make the timing as perfect as possible by keeping the green circle as close to the ball as possible. Remember, the greater the distance of the circle from the ball, the less chance you have of scoring. A perfectly timed circle will undoubtedly go in if they are placed in the right spot.

When aiming your shots, always aim at any of the four corners of the goal post, as these are the locations that the goalkeeper technically cannot reach. Your penalty kicks will be converted into goals if you aim for any of the four corners and time your shots precisely.
