A new thriller starring Sydney Sweeney is doing well on streaming, and fans of the Euphoria star won't want to miss this riveting and dark ride.
While Sweeney has played memorable teenage characters in dramatic situations, including wealthy Olivia Mossbacher on The White Lotus season 1 and Eden Blaine on The Handmaid's Tale, she's taken on some fascinating movie characters in the past few years. However, even her talent couldn't stop Madame Web from being a huge disappointment. Sweeney is unfazed by it and maintained a positive attitude when discussing it. People aren't disappointed by her recent thriller film, and it's already a hit.

Sydney Sweeney's AppleTV+ Thriller Movie, Echo Valley, Is At The Top Of The Streaming Charts
According to Flex Patrol, Sydney Sweeney's thriller movie, Echo Valley, has taken the number one spot on the Apple TOP 10 in the United States as of June 14th, 2025.
Sweeney plays Claire Garrett, a young woman going through a lot who reconnects with her mother Kate (Julianne Moore) on the family horse farm. The movie also stars Edmund Donovan as Claire's boyfriend Ryan, Kyle McLaughlin as Kate's ex-husband Richard, and Domhnall Gleeson as Jackie Lawson, a dealer.

Echo Valley has some big talent behind it. Brad Ingelsby, who worked on the thriller Mare of Easttown and who wrote the upcoming AppleTV+ movie The Lost Bus, wrote the film. Ridley Scott is also a producer. In an interview with TV Insider, Ingelsby talked about Echo Valley and Mare of Easttown, and he shared his thoughts on the tone of his AppleTV+ movie. He said:
"I hope we were able to pull it off! You want it to be a thriller, but grounded, to have the twist feel earned and not fake. Hopefully the audience is thrown at times and questioning what’s the truth and what isn’t. Mare, in a similar way, subverted expectations."
Moore and Sweeney are well-matched in Echo Valley and their intriguing and layered mother/daughter dynamic powers the story. Like many other fascinating psychological thrillers, the movie has a great ending that could suggest a sequel. It's so compelling watching Claire and Kate that audiences would likely be on board with seeing what happens to them next.
The stars have some interesting upcoming projects, and neither one sticks to one genre or plays the same kind of character over and over again. Moore, who recently appeared in the 2025 Netflix series Sirens alongside Milly Alcock and Meghann Fahy, is appearing next in a musical comedy movie written, directed, and produced by Jessie Eisenberg. Moore will also star in Control, an action film based on the podcast Shipworm.
Next, Sweeney is playing the main character Millie in the upcoming movie adaptation of Freida McFadden's novel The Housemaid, a story about a maid who witnesses something sinister. She will also play boxer Christy Martin in a film that doesn't have a title at the time of this writing.
