Even though the Eevee Grove expansion only added two new Ex cards for the Eeveelutions and one for Eevee itself, it has spawned several decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket themed around the Evolution Pokemon. The best Eevee deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket is probably the one with Sylveon Ex and Greninja, with one copy of Giratina Ex, as it's relatively easy to pilot, and it's quite consistent in terms of results, but more decks based on Eevee are in the meta, and more come out by the day. Lately, a new deck emerged to challenge the current meta, and it has a surprising Eeveelution in it to win some games.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's Sylveon Ex is the best Eeveelution in the game at the moment, thanks to its Happy Ribbon ability, which allows players to draw two cards when Sylveon Ex comes into play, essentially acting as a third and possibly a fourth Professor's Research each game. Flareon Ex from Eevee Grove also saw a lot of play, though it has fallen out of the competitive meta at the moment, and the other Eeveelutions in the set have been mostly collection fodder. However, with Lightning decks relying on quick damage, Jolteon is on the rise, and it's now part of a powerful Eevee deck.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's New S-Tier Deck Takes an Iconic Card to New Heights

Pokemon TCG Pocket has a new S-tier deck in its current meta, and it's using a new powerful card in combination with an old one.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's New Eevee Deck Has an Ace Up Its Sleeve

Eevee Ex allows Pokemon TCG Pocket players to use four Eevee cards in one deck and still evolve them, with the risk being that Eevee Ex awards two points to the opponent if KOed. Interestingly, this deck runs two Eevee with Collect, two Eevee Ex, one Sylveon Ex, two Leafeon Ex from Triumphant Light, and finally one copy of Jolteon from Eevee Grove. Jolteon has never been much of a meta card in the past, but it's recently seeing play because its Beginning Bolt attack can deal up to 60 damage with just one Energy.

How Pokemon TCG Pocket's New Eevee Grove Jolteon Fares in the Meta

Eevee Grove Jolteon has 90 HP, it's weak to Fighting, has a retreat cost of 1, and its only attack is Beginning Bolt, which deals 40 damage and an additional 20 if Eevee evolved into Jolteon on that turn. As such, it can be a great strategic tool in many games, as all it needs is one Lightning Energy to attack. One can theoretically put an Eevee with no Energy in the active spot, attach a Lightning Energy to it, evolve it into Jolteon, and immediately deal 60 damage. This is great against Sylveon Ex/Greninja decks, and it can be used on turn two to suddenly take out an opposing basic Pokemon.

Even if the deck only runs Lightning Energy, Leafeon Ex can power itself up with Forest Breath when it's in the active spot. Players can build it on the bench with just one Lightning Energy before it goes into the active spot on the following turn, attacking with Solar Beam thanks to the Grass Energy from its ability and a second attached Energy. Lighting Energy also serves another purpose, which is to allow the deck to use Pokemon TCG Pocket's meta counter Oricorio and also attack with it, which can shut down many opposing decks just by being there.

The downside of this deck is that it has 10 Pokemon cards in it, with 6 basic Pokemon, so most games will inevitably have some "dead" draws.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's Solgaleo Ex and Sylveon Ex deck is adapting to Oricorio with Magearna, and many decks typically run at least one copy of Sabrina, if not also one or more counters to Oricorio. Ironically, this deck can also use Jolteon to counter Oricorio in opposing decks, since the bulk of the damage comes from Leafeon Ex. Still, the deck also runs two copies of Giant Cape that ideally would go onto Leafeon Ex, but they can be attached to Oricorio in matchups where it's more relevant.
