One Elden Ring player has discovered yet another funny bug while playing in an endgame area. It's yet another glitch in the seemingly endless list of amusing but harmless Elden Ring bugs that fans just keep on finding.
FromSoftware's wildly popular Soulslike action RPG title Elden Ring, released in February 2022, is still going strong, with an expansion expected to drop sometime in 2024. It's enjoying a highly devoted fanbase who loves the challenging difficulty typical of the genre, coupled with the engrossing dark high fantasy universe written by A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin. Despite being a really polished AAA game, like many others, it hasn't escaped the clutches of (often hilarious) bugs and glitches.

Redditor squishy_waifu posted some gameplay footage of themselves wandering around the endgame area The Wailing Dunes when they chanced upon a random turtle stuck in the sand. Players jokingly call these critters "dogs," as the actual dogs in Elden Ring are too violent to pet, and this particular turtle isn't supposed to be in this area. The player was able to kill it after hitting it to check if it's actually another enemy, and it remained stuck half-buried in the sand. Everyone in the comments concluded that it's another one of the game's many funny bugs.
At this point, players who are still active in the game are going around to discover its various secrets. Everyone is waiting for the next update about the arrival of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Elden Ring's first official expansion. Announced on the game's first anniversary in February 2023, no new details have been released since — nothing about the story or even a tentative launch date, just a teaser image that seems to feature key character Miquella. The fanbase is speculating that the next major announcement about it will come at the second anniversary in February 2024, but nothing has been set in stone.
Because of the teaser image FromSoftware released, many players seem to be certain that Shadow of the Erdtree will have a story heavily centering on Miquella. With notorious elite boss Malenia, Miquella's twin, proving popular among the fanbase, this narrative direction will likely be a hit as well. With February 2024 just a month away, fans may only need to wait a while longer for possible word on the next chapter of Elden Ring. And with many more discoveries such as this glitch perhaps awaiting them, they'll still have a lot of exploring on their hands in the meantime.
