A couple of Elden Ring players ended up dying in an almost identical manner while facing off against each other in one of the game’s Colosseums. Developer FromSoftware has released several updates for Elden Ring, with many of them focused on improving the balance of the game in addition to fixing bugs.
Some of these updates also come with new features, such as the Colosseum update for Elden Ring that opened up various arenas for PvP combat. Gamers can use these arenas to initiate both solo and team-based PvP encounters, with an option to enable the use of spirit ashes as well. Now, a bizarre Elden Ring clip shows two opponents dying identically during a match in one of these Colosseums.
A Reddit user named effhk has shared a video of the strange PvP battle, featuring a tense encounter in which both players are using Greatswords available in Elden Ring. Both gamers miss their first strikes, but the battle settles into a rhythm of sorts where these users are hitting each other simultaneously with their weapons. It seems like both players are just spamming the attack button in the hopes of earning the victory, but they end up dying at the same time, as the word “Stalemate” appears on the screen to make note of a draw.
These Elden Ring fans probably thought that they had higher vigor than the opponent, which may explain why they kept hitting each other without attempting to dodge or use another ability. One player in the comments calls this video the true vigor test, as Elden Ring gamers have often died as a result of not spending enough points to increase their total health.
Another user makes note of the exact moment both players consciously decided to fight to the death, while one gamer calls this the high strength but low intelligence build. It also seems like a few players were not aware that battles in the Colosseums of Elden Ring can end in a draw. According to another user, this video shows how the game is meant to be played, as it features a straight-up duel bereft of players constantly rolling or spamming magic attacks in Elden Ring.
In addition to the Colosseums, FromSoftware recently released a new update for Elden Ring adding support for ray tracing capabilities. However, some users don’t appear too impressed by this feature, as players report running into performance issues with it enabled.
Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
