The majority of them are mostly found on a Teardrop Scarab, which is this tiny beetle that's pushing a ball, and some of them are even invisible. These Teardrop Scarabs exist all over the Land Between whether it's above ground or underground. However, do keep in mind that some of the Ashes of War are rewarded by bosses or found inside treasure chests.

How To Use Ashes Of War In Elden Ring

First, it is essential for a Tarnished to know how to activate the special ability of Ashes of War. This can be done with L2, LT on a gamepad or Shift+Right Click on the keyboard and mouse. If one of these inputs is used, the player character will perform a special move.

There are lots of different Ashes of War and each of them gives the Tarnished a unique ability. So, there are many interesting options to experiment with, and it is highly recommended to try out as many of them as possible.

How To Activate Ashes Of War In Elden Ring

All these upgrades are useless if they just lie in the inventory. In order to activate any of them, the Tarnished need to use the Whetstone Knife. This item can be found in the Gatefront Ruins, and it unlocks the Ashes of War menu.

The Ashes of War menu can be accessed from any Site of Grace. A player just needs to use any of them and open the menu. There, the Tarnished can upgrade different weapons and items with Ashes of War.
