Status effects in Elden Ring will often leave the affected at a severe disadvantage through either a lasting debuff or instant damage. Every status effect in Elden Ring can be stopped and combated before it fully takes effect, with others being curable if they leave a lasting effect.

By far the most devastating status effect in the game is Death Blight, as it will instantly kill the player no matter how much health they have left. This status effect is instant once the bar fills up, making it important to counter before it gets to that point.

How To Combat Death Blight In Elden Ring

Death Blight is an instant death effect with no last chance for the player to escape once the bar is filled up. With that, there is no way to cure it and instead combat its build-up to keep the bar from completely filling. One of the main methods all players can take advantage of is using a Rejuvenating Boluse to clear large amounts of the build-up bar. A Rejuvenating Boluse can be crafted using 2 Dewkissed Herba, 1 Crystal Cave Moss, and 1 Golden Centipede.

The recipe to craft the Rejuvenating Boluse is found in the Missionary's Cookbook [7] which is found in the eastern section of the Mountaintop Of The Giants In Elden Ring being sold by a Nomadic Merchant. Players can also use the Order Healing incantation specifically made to counter this effect and is found east of the Aqueduct-Facing Cliffs in the underground region. Players can also use the Law Of Regression incantation, although the cast time is fairly long and a gamble to use when curing such a dangerous effect.

How To Resist Death Blight In Elden Ring

A player's resistance to Death Blight is determined by their Vitality. Increasing Vitality is one of the many things a player's Arcane Stat does in Elden Ring when leveled up. While leveling up a specific stat to avoid just one status effect can be tedious, Vitality is also a stat each armor will have. While there are a few exceptions, players will find cloth armor or mage-like armor having very high Vitality and ideal gear when facing an enemy that uses Death Blight.

Unlike other resistances, there isn't an item players can craft in order to temporarily boost their Vitality and make them safer from Death Blight. This further makes Death Blight one of the best PVP builds in Elden Ring. Players can also find and use the Prince Of Death's Pustule in Stormveil Castle or the Prince Of Death's Cyst in the Deeproot Depths, as they are Talismen that boost Vitality specifically to combat Death Blight.
