In Elden Ring, FromSoft has provided ample weapon and spell options for all build types. Many players believe mage builds to be among the strongest, as they gain access to a variety of spells, many of which are chargeable and spammable, making them quite potent. Among all the sorceries found throughout the Lands Between, Night sorceries have the unique ability to shoot silently, causing enemies to not dodge or shield.

At the forefront of Night sorceries is the impressive Night Comet spell. It's considered one of the strongest spells in Elden Ring, capable of dealing significant damage, especially when charged and combined with the signature staff like the Staff of Loss or talismans such as Godfrey’s Icon and Graven Mass. For mage builds struggling against agile bosses like Malenia, who excel at dodging attacks, the Night Comet spell is a valuable asset, as its silent attacks catch enemies off guard. Moreover, it's relatively easy to acquire.

Elden Ring: How To Unlock Sellia Town Of Sorcery Barrier

Here's how players can unlock the sorcery barrier in Elden Ring's Sellia Town.

Elden Ring: Night Comet Location

To obtain the Night Comet spell, players will have to head to Sellia, Town of Sorcery, located southeast of Sellia Crystal Tunnel in Caelid. After solving the magic barrier puzzle in Sellia, players can collect the Night Comet spell from inside a chest located at the heart of the town.

Elden Ring Sellia Tunnel Trap

Sellia, Town of Sorcery, is located in Caelid, a region notorious for its terrifying monsters and rotted environment. Luckily, there’s a shortcut to Sellia, which lets you skip all the monstrosities of Caelid and reach straight to this mysterious magical town. Go to the Dragon-Burnt Ruins and head into the cellar at the center of the ruins to find a trapped chest guarded by a bunch of rats. Upon opening the chest, players will be enshrouded by fog and get teleported to a shack inside the Sellia Crystal Tunnel.

Located in the rotten lands of Caelid, Sellia Crystal Tunnel is unsurprisingly home to annoying Kindreds of Rot. For this reason, beginners might have trouble leaving this tunnel. The easy way to do so is by leaving the shack and going past the miners on the right side to find a tunnel leading to the exit of the Sellia Crystal Tunnel.

After leaving Sellia Crystal Tunnel, head southeast to reach Sellia, Town of Sorcery. In this town, players can find multiple magical doors unlockable after lighting up three braziers located on top of three towers in the north, south, and east parts of the town. To obtain the Night Comet spell, players only need to light up braziers on top of towers in north and south.

Take the stairs leading to the giant sealed entrance with a golden tree in front of it. On the southwest of the sealed entrance, you will find a giant branch leading to a tower with a ladder. Use Torrent’s jump ability to swiftly reach this location and climb the tower to light the brazier.

After lighting the first brazier, descend the ladder and utilize Torrent to jump through the roofs and branches to reach the tower on the south. Be cautious of the Marionette Soldiers stationed on the roof. Once both braziers are lit, the magical seal to the room containing the Night Comet will be lifted.

Elden Ring - Night Comet Chest

You can now teleport to the Sellia Under-Stair site of grace, climb the stairs, and take a left turn to find the chest containing the Night Comet spell.
