How to Get Erdtree Greatshield in Elden Ring

As is the case with most good items in the game, this shield drops from strong enemies. More precisely, to get the Erdtree Greatshield in Elden Ring, you need to defeat two Tree Sentinels bosses. You might have met one of these at the beginning of your adventure. But unfortunately, this horseman is not the one you need.

Instead, you should progress until you reach the Altus Plateau. To do this, players have to find both pieces of the Dectus Medallion and use them to activate the Grand Lift of Dectus. After that, head northeast along the road to the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace.

One you've arrived at the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace, you need to go east a little to find two Tree Sentinels. Since there are two of them, the battle will be quite hard, but once you defeat both bosses, you can get the coveted Erdtree Greatshield in Elden Ring.

Erdtree Greatshield Stats in Elden Ring

To begin with, the Erdtree Greatshield scales with Strength (D) and Faith (D). Therefore, to use it, you must have at least 30 Strength and 12 Faith. This shield absorbs Physical and Faith damage perfectly, but its main strength lies in a unique skill called Golden Retaliation.

By blocking sorceries or incantations with this shield, you dispel them and respond by firing a magical projectile from it. Although the projectile deals damage to Faith, it does not scale with your stats. However, you can increase your damage with Talismans, such as the Shard of Alexander. Lastly, Golden Retaliation can also be triggered by your sorceries or incantations.
