Elden Ring Nightreign is a game made with multiplayer in mind, and though it's possible to beat Expeditions on your own, it's much easier to take on the challenges of the game with a team. Any team composition can beat any boss if you know what you are doing.
Elden Ring Nightreign: Relics, Explained
In Elden Ring Nightreign, Relics can be equipped to grant each character passive bonuses that carry through each run.
However, if you can balance damage and utility between your party members – and know how to synergize abilities and strengths – you'll find it much easier to get through to Day 3. This guide to the best team comps in Nightreign recommends five powerful party compositions with characters that work well together, balance each other's weaknesses, or, with proper communication, can shred boss HP bars like no other.
Recluse, Wylder, & Executor
Keep Attention Off Recluse For Magic Cocktails
The Recluse is one of the most powerful classes in Elden Ring Nightreign, but she is also one of the squishiest with the lowest HP pool of all Nightfarers. To give the Recluse the space she needs to let loose with her most powerful Magic Cocktail abilities, she needs to have two powerful melee characters by her side who can grab enemy attention.
Wylder and Executor are two of the best melee characters in Nightreign for keeping the pressure up in close combat. Wylder and Executor should equip weapons with all four types of Magic Cocktail element (Magic, Fire, Lightning, and Holy) to give the Recluse plenty of ways to gather all Affinity Residues.
Try to keep attention off the Recluse, and give her lots of sources of elemental damage to pull from, and she should have everything she needs to shred boss HP with her most powerful spells.
Raider, Wylder, & Ironeye
Coordinate Ults To Interrupt Any Boss
Raider, Wylder, and Ironeye might seem like an odd combo, but it's one of the best team comps in Nightreign for one important reason: Ultimate Arts. All three of these characters have Ultimate Arts that can fully interrupt any enemy in the game when they connect. Raider's Totem Stella, Wylder's Onslaught Strike, and Ironeye's Single Shot are all capable of stopping bosses in their tracks.
All Returning Dark Souls Bosses In Elden Ring Nightreign
There are six Dark Souls bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign from all three Souls games, including the Nameless King and the Gaping Dragon.
This is vital in Nightlord fights, when major mechanics can be completely avoided with a well-timed Ultimate Art. With three characters who can perform an interrupting Ult, and Ironeye to revive Wylder and Raider from afar, you should have few troubles taking down each Night boss and the Nightlord – provided you find boss weakness weapons, too.
Revenant, Raider, & Guardian
Highly Defensive With Lots Of Revive Skills & Summons
Like Recluse, Revenant is a very squishy class, but her ability to summon three different companions and her Ultimate Art,which revives all teammates instantly, are extremely useful for almost any team composition. Revenant's summons can distract enemies and essentially serve as a fourth, AI-controlled player. Plus, she isn't restricted to summons – she can still cast spells and wield weapons like any other Nightfarer.
But because of her low HP, she needs teammates who can take the pressure off of her if her summons don't draw aggro away. Raider and Guardian are particularly suited for this task. Raider can take hits like no other class and has an Ultimate that can interrupt bosses, while Guardian can quickly fly across the battlefield with his Ultimate Art and revive Revenant.
With two major Ultimates that can easily revive allies on the team, you'll have more chances to beat bosses without dying and losing a level.
Triple Ironeye Comp
Ranged Revives, Marks, Boss Interrupts, Extra Items – What's Not To Love?
It sounds crazy, but despite Ironeye's relative lack of damage output compared to other classes, the triple Ironeye comp is one of the most effective Nightreign team comps. Ironeye can revive enemies from a distance with arrows, so you should have no problems keeping each other up.
Elden Ring Nightreign: How To Get Dark Souls Skins
To unlock Dark Souls skins, Nightreign players must complete a challenging encounter, then spend Murk at the dresser to purchase Dark Souls costumes.
All three players will have access to an Ult that can interrupt bosses, all three players can Mark enemies at will with the character skill (which has i-frames for almost its entire animation), and all three players benefit from the increased Item Discovery passive.
This comp is especially powerful if all three Ironeyes can get a bow with the boss weakness affinity, or a bow with a status effect. Attack as one, use the Mark skill as an extended dodge, and coordinate your Utimates to prevent just about every major boss mechanic.
Two Ironeyes & A Duchess
The Highest Damage Team In Nightreign, If You Communicate
Like the triple Ironeye team comp, this team comp is capable of doing exceptional damage. But with a Duchess in the midst, you can double that already-high damage and gain invisibility with Finale to more easily revive each other during tough moments.
The Duchess' Ultimate Art is useful, but it's her character skill Restage that makes her such an asset to this composition. Essentially, with two Ironeyes and a Duchess, you must communicate with your team to Mark bosses, use both Ironeye Ults at the same time, then Restage the damage of both Ults and the broken Mark. Do this, and you will shred through boss HP bars.
Because Duchess' character skill recharges fast, both Ironeyes must tell the Duchess player when they are ready to Ult. It's a team comp that requires quite a lot of clear communication between players, but if you can pull it off, no other team comp can even come close to the sheer damage output of what is essentially a quadruple-Ultimate and two broken Marks.
