Wylder is a melee-oriented character in Elden Ring Nightreign who excels with a wide variety of melee weapons. Though it's possible to equip Staves, Bows, and Sacred Seals as Wylder, the best Wylder weapons take advantage of his strengths as an agile melee master.

How To Play Ironeye In Elden Ring Nightreign

Ironeye is the perfect class for players who enjoy ranged combat in Elden Ring Nightreign. Here's how to play him effectively.

Though you cannot find specific weapons in every run, there are certain types of weapons, and weapon bonuses, that Wylder players should keep an eye out for. This guide explains how to get the best weapons for Wylder in Nightreign, and lists a series of powerful passive bonuses that can randomly roll on weapons that can benefit Wylder's playstyle.

Best Weapons For Wylder In Elden Ring Nightreign

The best Wylder weapons Nightreign players can get are Greatswords, but he can comfortably equip and wield just about any melee weapon. Greatswords should be your number one priority, though. This is because he gains a few extra moves with Greatswords, like a different crouch attack, and because of Relics that enhance his Claw Shot skill.

One Relic bonus that you can get will allow you to follow up a Claw Shot grapple, which can be triggered by pressing the Light Attack input at the end of your pull. If Wylder is wielding a Greatsword, his weapon will alight with flame and deal extra damage on the connecting hit.

The weapon keeps its extra Fire damage for about 15 seconds after the follow-up attack, which is an incredible way to both deal extra damage and take advantage of various bosses' Fire weaknesses.

There are six Dark Souls bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign from all three Souls games, including the Nameless King and the Gaping Dragon.

This Relic bonus confers a lot of power to Wylder, but if you don't have it, just about any other weapon will still prove effective. Don't pass up on an epic or legendary melee weapon upgrade just because it's not a Greatsword – for Wylder, an upgrade is an upgrade, and if it deals more damage than what you have equipped, it's probably worth using.

Where To Get The Best Wylder Weapons

Wylder benefits most from medium to heavy melee weapons, including Greatswords of course, but also Axes, Katanas, Colossal Weapons, and other STR or Quality melee weapons.

While you can find Sacred Seals, Staves, and Bows at specific Weapon Stands throughout Limveld, you can find melee weapons as drops from almost every chest, boss reward, or other source of gear in the game.

Keep an eye out for Greatswords in particular, especially if you have the Relic that enhances the follow-up.

Remember to ask your teammates to keep an eye out for powerful melee weapon upgrades in their reward pools – players can drop items for each other once acquired, and a useless weapon for someone else might be a major upgrade for you.

Best Wylder Weapon Affinities & Bonuses

All weapons in Elden Ring Nightreign come with randomized passive bonuses, listed below the Ash of War on the weapon description. These bonuses can stack are active as long as you have the weapon equipped in any of your six equipment slots, unless they have a small hand icon on the bonus. This means the weapon must be equipped to activate the passive. This is usually present on weapons with an Add Elemental Damage effect.

Wylder benefits the most from bonuses that improve his physical combat ability, his survivability, and enhance his skills. The best Wylder weapon bonuses that you should look out for are:

  • Improved Attack Power When Two-Handing
  • Improved Guarding Ability
  • Improved Guard Breaking
  • Improved Stance Breaking
  • Improved Jump Attacks
  • Improved Damage Negation At Low HP (and at Full HP)
  • Successive Attacks Negate Damage
  • Improved Fire Attack Power
  • Improved Physical Damage
  • Improved Sacred Flask Recovery
  • Dmg Negation Up While Charging Attacks
