FromSoftware has revealed that the Set of Artorias, a fan-favorite armor from Dark Souls, will appear in Elden Ring Nightreign. As anticipation builds for the studio's upcoming Soulslike multiplayer title, FromSoftware has begun sharing more details, offering a closer look at Elden Ring Nightreign' s mechanics and equipment.
Dark Souls, first released in 2011, remains one of the most highly regarded Souls games. A standout aspect of the game, both in the original and the remaster, has been the gear players acquire throughout their journey. Since many of these items come with rich lore and striking designs, players often form a connection with them, viewing them as relics of their adventure rather than just random loot. And FromSoftware's upcoming title now seems ready to leverage the lasting appeal of these iconic items.
Elden Ring Nightreign PC Specs Revealed
Elden Ring Nightreign gives players a first look at the requirements for the PC version of FromSoftware's upcoming action role-playing game.
As reported by Famitsu Japan, FromSoftware unveiled new footage from Elden Ring Nightreign during its Spring 2025 Game Event in Tokyo. The video showcases the Set of Artorias, an iconic armor set that originally appeared in Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss, the game's only DLC, released in 2012. Players could obtain the set by defeating Artorias the Abysswalker, the DLC's main boss. Now, Souls fans have the chance to wear the legendary armor once again, this time in a brand-new setting and with significantly enhanced visuals. And for longtime fans of Dark Souls, the Set of Artorias isn't the only nostalgic element making a return in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Elden Ring Nightreign Will Feature the Set of Artorias and the Gaping Dragon
During FromSoftware's Spring Game Event, fans were also treated to a livestreamed boss fight featuring one of Dark Souls' most iconic creatures, the Gaping Dragon. Although it was an optional encounter in the original game, the Gaping Dragon left a lasting impression thanks to its grotesque design and its nearly minute-long introduction cutscene.
The Famitsu Japan team, who attended FromSoftware's event, also reported that the company revealed a new character for Elden Ring Nightreign. The eighth warrior is tentatively referred to as “Avenger,” which is a direct translation of the Japanese title and may be changed in the English version. However, no further details, such as gameplay or abilities, have been shared. Fans will likely have to wait until FromSoftware's second convention on May 10 in Osaka, where more information is expected to be revealed, including additional details about Nightreign' s characters and lore.
