During an earnings report, Kadokawa revealed new details on the financial success of Elden Ring Nightreign, while also teasing a release window for new DLC. While initially surprising fans by moving away from the traditional action RPG experience, Elden Ring Nightreign adds roguelike elements, allowing up to three players to journey together through a constantly evolving map in an attempt to reach the final boss on the third day.
Since it launched in May, Elden Ring Nightreign has continued to see updates, both to fix and adjust issues with the game, as well as adding new content and events. In fact, FROM Software also recieved plenty of feedback from players and added a dedicated Duo Expeditions mode to Elden Ring Nightreign, better balancing the gameplay around just two people instead of the expected three. However, these quality of life updates were always just the start, as FROM Software parent company Kadokawa spilled the beans on the expected launch window for premium Nightreign DLC.

Elden Ring Nightreign Premium DLC Launch Window
In an earnings call for the past 6 months up to September 30, 2025, Kadokawa revealed that Elden Ring Nightreign has been a hit for the company and that the game has "performed well beyond initial expectations." Unfortunately, Kadokawa didn't provide any specific sales numbers in the report, reiterating that Nightreign exceeded expectations and that the company is aiming to further grow sales of the Elden Ring brand. With the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition planned for Switch 2, the goal seems very achievable.
However, that wasn't the only bit of big news in Kadokawa's report, which revealed potential launch window plans for Elden Ring Nightreign DLC. The financial report confirmed that FROM Software is currently working on Nightreign DLC, as well as continued development on The Duskbloods for Nintendo Switch 2. Outside previously revealed Nightreign DLC news, details were very scarce, but the report did indicate that a release was planned before the end of the end of the 2025 FIscal Year, which means by March 2026.
While players will need to wait a bit longer for the bigger content to arrive, FROM SOftware has tried to keep the game feeling fresh by introducing new world events as well as different game modes. Back in September, Elden Ring Nightreign launched Deep of Night, a game mode for players who want even more of a challenge with randomized Nightlords, alongside the promise of more interesting loot. The studio followed that up with a patch that further refined the experience, allowing players to adjust their "depth" and adding safeguard to protect their rank when defeated. The changes allow players to be a bit more creative and test out new builds without worrying about losing progress or rank.
