In response to hitting a major player milestone, FROMSoftware teases the near future of Elden Ring Nightreign, including upcoming content and game modes. There's been a lot of excitement around Elden Ring Nightreign after its launch on May 30, and it appears the studio has plans to keep the momentum going throughout the rest of the year.

However, for all the success, Elden Ring Nightreign was met with a bit of controversy prior to its launch. While the game supports full parties or those who want to go in solo, fans noticed the lack of a duos mode to support players who don't have a full three-person squad. While fans were able to develop a Duos Mod for Elden Ring Nightreign, players have been anticipating an official announcement from Bandai Namco or FROMSoftware. Thankfully, they finally got their wish.

Elden Ring Nightreign: 8 Common Mistakes That Ruin A Run

These mistakes might be common, but they have the potential to ruin a good run for players in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Elden Ring Nightreign recently passed a huge milestone, seeing 3.5 million players check out the game in only 5 days. As part of a thank you to the ever-growing community of players, the official Elden Ring account gave fans a tease of what's to come for Nightreign, confirming that new DLC will be releasing later in 2025, being gradually implemented over time. Later this month, the game will also be adding enhanced fights against existing Nightlords.

Elden Ring Nightreign Adding Duos

However, the biggest piece of the announcement for many will likely be the fact that a dedicated Duo Expeditions game mode will finally be added, allowing two players to go it alone. A missing duos mode from Elden Ring Nightreign was one of the bigger criticisms from players prior to launch, with many pointing at games like Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone as experiences that cater to all sorts of party sizes.

There's also hope that Duo Expeditions will be balanced whenever it is finally added, something that initially plagued the solo game mode at launch. Players grew so frustrated playing solo that the June update for Elden Ring Nightreign included major changes to improve the experience. Specifically, FROMSoftware increased the amount of runes gained for solo players while also giving players the Automatic Revival Upon Defeat effect, allowing them to revive once per night during boss battles.
