Elden Ring Nightreign may be getting a new endless mode that increases in difficulty as players gain rank, if a new rumor is to be believed. Dataminers claim to have uncovered some information about Elden Ring Nightreign that suggests a new way to play is in the works, and it could hold some unexpected possibilities for the game.
The roguelike co-op action-RPG follow-up to FromSoftware's 2022 smash hit Elden Ring, Elden Ring Nightreign' s launch day player count on May 30 was impressive, with more than 300,000 concurrent players recorded within two hours of the game's launch. Its weekly peak has dropped to about a third of that count since that time, but the development team has released additional content to keep the game fresh, including the recent introduction of a two-player game mode.

Elden Ring Nightreign May Be Getting a Ranked Endless Mode
Newly revealed information suggests that Elden Ring Nightreign's Duo Mode isn't the only new gameplay mode the developers have been cooking up since the game's launch. According to a post recently shared on Reddit, datamined information suggests that a ranked endless dungeon mode is present in the game's code. Titled Deep of Night, the currently unreleased game mode would be selectable from the game's Expeditions menu and would see players venturing deeper into five increasingly difficult Depths, with benchmarks for advancement set at 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, and 6,000 points of rating. Players reportedly would not be able to lose rank below their current Depth, and the matchmaking system would set them up with teammates of similar rank.
The rumored game mode would also come with a few in-game surprises that would set Deep of Night apart from the standard game. Chief among these is increasing the number of relic slots Elden Ring Nightreign players can have. The leaked information suggests that successful players would be able to earn an extra three relic slots in addition to the three that come with a standard adventure in the game, though the three extra slots would only be accessible while players are making a Deep of Night run. The game mode would also reportedly give players access to weapons with special buffs and debuffs, and there would be some variation in the enemies present, as some bosses would appear with molten magma-like physical features.
If the information is true, it wouldn't be the first time a dataminer has successfully provided players with insider information on the game. About two weeks after the game's launch, a dataminer revealed the max level in Elden Ring Nightreign as 15 and correctly identified the diminishing returns in the three highest levels. That doesn't necessarily mean everything revealed about Deep of Night is accurate, but if any portion of this information is true, it could lead to a renewed interest in Elden Ring Nightreign in the future.
