How To Play Executor in Elden Ring Nightreign
With the ability to deflect attacks like in Sekiro, and a penchant for Katanas, the Executor class in Nightreign is a formidable melee expert.
One of the more interesting mechanics is the relics system, which allows players to equip passive buffs to each class for some cool and powerful combos. Executor is one of the Nightfarers that really benefits from good relic usage, and there are plenty of great options when it comes to his playstyle and getting the most out of the shapeshifting samurai.
7 Night Of The Baron
All About The Crits
Effect:
- Improved Critical Hits +1
- Art gauge fills moderately upon critical hit
- Critical Hit Boosts Stamina Recovery Speed
Night of the Baron is an all-around great relic that serves as one of the best choices for Executor players who really love to play with their parries. Being able to deflect attacks and keep up a constant level of pressure on the enemy means that staggers happen more often, and the opportunity for critical strikes rises with it.
Not only are the crits stronger in general, but the added bonus of filling up the art gauge means that players are really encouraged to go for those heavy hits in order to unlock one of the more powerful ultimates in the game. Being able to switch to beat form far more often adds a level of survivability and power that helps players in that final encounter.
6 Status Effects
More Bleeds, More Damage
Effect:
- Attack power up when facing (status effect)-afflicted enemy
- Starting Armament Inflicts (status effect)
Executor's biggest strength in terms of base stats is his arcane, joint with dexterity at S, but holding so much more potential power in the right circumstances. Arcane is a stat that governs several systems like item discovery and certain spell effects, but the biggest strength of high arcane is the ability to apply status effects much faster.
Elden Ring Nightreign: 8 Overpowered Builds That Are A Lot Of Fun
Few builds are as potent as these overpowered Elden Ring Nightreign builds that are guaranteed to keep the game fun.
Being able to start the game with a status effect already on the player's weapon means that harder fights become beatable much sooner, and there are more opportunities to go for a riskier play thanks to the added damage from poison or a burst of bleed. And if players want a slightly different approach, there are plenty of buffs that affect their damage based on nearby effects, meaning they can swap to another weapon with a status effect and push the limits of their DPS.
5 Self-Inflicted Buffs
An Eye For An Eye
Effect:
- (Executor) Character Skill Boosts Attack, but Attacking Drains HP
- Changes the compatible armament's skill to Seppuku at the start of the expedition
Sometimes, sacrifices have to be made, whether it be choosing between different locations on the final day or choosing a slightly weaker armament to benefit from its passive effects. And, when it comes to relics, there are a few options that play into the idea of sacrifice in a very literal sense, by damaging the player as a small price for a huge reward.
Being able to boost the player's attack at will is a pretty powerful buff that feeds into the idea of pulling out the skill for a quick parry and then swapping back to another weapon to maintain the damage bonus, whilst avoiding the drawback. Seppuku is also a very useful skill to have early on, which deals a small amount of damage to the player and rewards them with a huge boost to carry them through an entire run.
4 Golden Sprout
Sustain Both Personally And For The Team
Effect:
- (Executor) Roaring restores HP while Art is active
- HP Recovery From Successful Guarding
- Slowly restore HP for self and nearby allies when HP is low
Healing is always an important factor for any player to consider in their build, as while it's nice to have the insurance of a few extra flasks, sometimes that added healing just isn't enough. Golden Sprout gives players a few extra ways of generating some extra heals, all while performing actions that the player would be doing anyway.
The HP restoration on the ultimate is very useful, as it means that players can fight for longer and maintain a higher level of health throughout the fight. Also, the ability to recover health from blocks can be an incredibly helpful tool for dealing with bosses with status effects that slowly chip away at the player's health pool. While the aura healing is pretty niche, it is always nice to have something extra to help out the rest of the party when the going gets tough.
3 Basic Stats
Simplicity Can Sometimes Be The Best
Effect:
- Dexterity
- Arcane
- Endurance
When searching through their long list of relics, players will notice plenty with flashy active effects that stand out a lot more than the others. However, sometimes it's nice to take some basic stat boosts that help the player in more subtle yet still powerful ways. For Executor, the best stats to focus on are arcane and dexterity, closely followed by endurance, which is something any sword user can appreciate.
The reason for taking these stats over others is due to the scaling that the weapons have, which Executor is particularly adept at using. Katanas are the go-to choice for the class, and many of them use dexterity as the main stats, as well as arcane for bleed and other status effects, so even a few extra points into these stats can net a load more damage for the player.
2 Blessed Flowers
Healing And Dexterity All In One
Effect:
- (Executor) While Character Skill is active, unlocking the use of cursed sword restores HP
- Dexterity +3
Blessed Flowers is a simple yet powerful relic that really benefits players who can make the most of the parry mechanic. After three parries, players can unleash the cursed sword to pull out a heavy blow that does a sizable amount of damage, and with this relic equipped, also heals the player for a nice bit of extra healing.
The healing is a nice bonus that adds a lot of extra sustain to a character that is already hard to take down, and having it bundled with boost to the player's dexterity, allows them to deal significantly more damage overall with dex based weapons, whilst also having some much needed healing to help them finish off the longer fights.
1 Katana Focus
The Samurai's Dream
Effect:
- HP Restoration upon Katana Attacks
- Improved Attack Power with 3+ Katanas Equipped
Katanas are always going to be an Executor player's main focus in a run, whether it be hunting for the elusive Rivers of Blood or opting for a Nightlord-focused weapon that targets their specific weakness. Nightreign has the unique mechanic of allowing players to equip several weapons at once with no load limit, and still benefit from all the passives that each one provides.
Using this knowledge, players can hold several of the same weapon at once to benefit from the relic passives that each weapon has, and for Executor, it means that having several katanas at once is much more powerful overall. On top of the damage bonus, restoration on every single attack allows players to recover HP during a fight, without ever having to stop their pursuit of the enemy.
