Summary
- The Elden Ring Nightreign launch trailer features the Evanescence song, Bring Me to Life, setting the tone for high-octane boss battles.

Bandai Namco has released the launch trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign, but what makes this otherwise normal piece of marketing stand out is the beloved Evanescence track that accompanies the high-octane boss battles. Elden Ring Nightreign is a co-op spin-off of 2022’s soulslike Elden Ring, and its announcement was one of the biggest surprises gracing The Game Awards 2024.
Set with a May 30 release date, Nightreign offers a single-player endeavor or team-based missions with three players, tasked with thwarting bosses in Limgrave’s new procedurally generated version, called Limveld. If May 30 is still too long a wait away, there’s an Elden Ring Nightreign New Zealand trick that allows fans to play the game early, thanks to Xbox consoles' more straightforward region-changing process. For those waiting for the official release, however, FromSoftware’s new launch trailer does a great job at igniting excitement, especially for millennials.
Elden Ring Nightreign Reveals Revenant Class
Mere days ahead of Elden Ring Nightreign's release, FromSoftware reveals the Revenant class from its upcoming co-op action RPG.
Shared on YouTube and social media, Bandai released Nightreign’s launch trailer, featuring more exhilarating boss-battle action, on the heels of Elden Ring Nightreign’s Caligo Miasma of Night reveal, unveiling a powerful ice dragon for players to conquer. To up the ante, the trailer features Evanescence’s popular track Bring Me to Life in the background, which immediately elevates the gameplay footage and tugs at the heartstrings of millennials with a penchant for nu metal. Tapping into emo nature even more so, Bandai accompanied the trailer with an uplifting statement, saying, “When your allies have fallen and all seems lost, dig deep down inside and summon the strength of early 2000’s alternative metal. WAKE ME UP.”
Elden Ring Nightreign's Launch Trailer Features Evanescence's Bring Me to Life
Unsurprisingly, the music choice for the launch trailer was a big hit with the fandom. Some noted the trailer felt like a fever dream and called whoever signed off on the music choice a “legend.” Furthermore, one YouTube commenter thought someone on the marketing team used to make anime music videos and contributed to this masterful launch trailer. In addition to Nightreign, Evanescence provided a song for Netflix’s Devil May Cry anime recently, titled Afterlife, and the series also features 2000s bands Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach.
First reviews for Nightreign have been generally favorable on Metacritic, sitting with a 78 score at the time of writing. Most deem the co-op a successful evolution of the IP, proving the franchise can function as a multiplayer just as well. The Best War Games’s Elden Ring Nightreign review praised its replayability, challenge, and well-designed bosses, with some points taken off for its clunky traversal and frustrating meta progression design choices.
