In Elden Ring Nightreign, leveling happens much faster than it does in the original Elden Ring. Over the course of a run, you will level up constantly, but there is a limit to the number of times players can level in Nightreign.
Elden Ring Nightreign: Deluxe Edition & Preorder Rewards
There are three different editions Elden Ring Nightreign players can purchase, as well as a preorder bonus for buying the game before launch.
Though the max level in Nightreign is several orders of magnitude lower than the max level in Elden Ring, you get much stronger with each level up. By the end of a run, you'll be as strong as an endgame Elden Ring character. This guide details what the max level is in Elden Ring Nightreign and explains how the Nightreign leveling system works.
How To Level Up In Nightreign
In Elden Ring Nightreign, you must collect Runes from defeated enemies to level up. Nightreign players must gather increasing numbers of Runes to level up – if you fall short, you'll have to go kill a few enemies and find another Site of Grace. Indeed, just like in the original game, Nightreign leveling takes place at Sites of Grace spread throughout Limveld.
However, you do not spend Runes to level up individual stats. Instead, if you have enough Runes to increase your level, interact with a Site of Grace and confirm the pop-up leveling screen. Your character's stats will automatically increase with every level up, and different stats will increase based on which character you are playing.
For example, Recluse gains more Intelligence and Mind than the Raider, who gets more Strength and Endurance than other stats with each level up.
If you die, or are attacked by certain enemies, you will lose one level. If stolen by an enemy, you can sometimes hunt down that enemy and kill them to recover your lost level. Most of the time, though, you will need to re-farm Runes to get back to where you were.
Elden Ring Nightreign FAQ (Crossplay, Preload, Install Size, and All Platforms)
This Elden Ring Nightreign FAQ will give you the answers to all the questions you have ahead of picking up the game.
Nightreign Max Character Level
As you progress through a run in Nightreign and level up, you will increase your power and ability to take on the Nightlord in each run. However, progression is not limitless. In fact, the max level in Nightreign is a meager level 15 – but that's not as weak as it seems.
The difference between one level and the next is enormous, and you gain strength very quickly as you level up in a run. By the time you reach levels 14 and 15, you will be about on par with an endgame Elden Ring character, in terms of your character's stats and power level.
This is practically required to even stand a chance against some of the game's hardest Nightlord bosses, so be sure to visit plenty of different points of interest, take on Field bosses, and kill every enemy you come across as you rush across Limveld. If you are able to get to the Nightreign max level as fast as possible, you will have the best chance to beat these tough Nightlord bosses.
