FromSoftware has released a new Elden Ring Nightreign update for June 2025, introducing some general balance adjustments alongside a number of bug fixes. Elden Ring Nightreign patch 1.01.3 has been rolled out for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The Elden Ring franchise journey has been very successful, starting with the first game released in 2022, followed by the acclaimed Shadows of the Erdtree DLC, and now the unexpected standalone entry, Nightreign. However, despite Nightreign’s immediate commercial success, the game was met with mixed reviews upon launch, which led its Steam rating to sit at “Mixed” for a while. Players cited several different issues, but the main problem was for solo players, who argued that the game’s options for them were not ideal. These complaints led FromSoftware to start working on a solution and roll out updates to address them. Now, the developer continues addressing issues in a new patch.

Update 1.01.3 is live on all platforms, and its main focus is on fixing some of Elden Ring Nightreign's technical issues. The patch notes detail numerous fixes in several different areas of the game that players will likely appreciate. For instance, the Demon Merchant no longer spawns randomly when its curse event is encountered. Issues with the amount of damage dealt to some enemies by Ironeye have also been fixed. An annoying bug where players would lose a battle after being revived when facing Night bosses was also rectified. Moreover, the patch addresses bugs related to Relic Effects, runes, Elemental Damage, and more.

Additionally, Steam users will be pleased to know that a bug causing the game to freeze in some environments has also been fixed. The game also saw some balance tweaks to make things fairer for players, and now there are higher chances of obtaining Elden Ring Nightreign’s weapons with the madness status ailment. It’s worth noting that players must install the update for online play, and FromSoftware advises restarting the game after downloading and installing the update file.

Technical issues have been a big problem for the game, even causing many fans to ask for an Elden Ring Nightreign refund. Users simply gave up on the game after facing recurring issues like server disconnections, while others did so because they didn’t like the solo play options. With every new update, FromSoftware is trying to offer solutions, such as patch 1.01.1, which added the “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat” effect to solo play and introduced an even larger list of bug fixes than the current update. FromSoftware has a renowned track record, so the developer will likely continue working on the game until it reaches its ideal state.
