While the spin-off title received a wide variety of reviews leading up to launch, it seems as if Elden Ring Nightreign is already a major success for FromSoftware. Between pre-orders and early sales, the title managed to sell over two million copies on its very first day of release. Even though the game has proven to be quite popular, fans still have their criticisms. For instance, many people have complained that the title limits players to groups of three and have asked the developers to add a two-player option. FromSoftware has stated that the lack of duos was an oversight and has suggested that it might add a new game mode for two-player co-op in the future.
Elden Ring Nightreign Artist Reveals Design Inspirations for the Game’s World
Elden Ring Nightreign’s environmental artist Saori Mizuno explains the design inspirations behind creating the spin-off’s Limveld world.
In a recent post on Twitter, FromSoftware gave players their first look at what they can expect to see in Elden Ring Nightreign's June 2 patch, which is now available on all platforms. The patch notes are filled with balance changes and bug fixes meant to enhance the title. One note states that players who manage to reach Day 3 of an expedition will now be able to earn more high-rarity relics. Another note says that players will also be able to earn more high-rarity relics when purchasing Scenic Flat stones from the Small Jar Bazaar.
Elden Ring Nightreign Introduces Balance Changes and Bug Fixes
The June 2 patch also includes a couple of improvements to the solo experience in Elden Ring Nightreign. For instance, players will now earn more runes when playing the game solo, which should allow gamers to level up more before facing off against the title's most fearsome bosses. The developers have also noted that "Automatic Revival Upon Defeat" has been added to solo expeditions, which gives players the ability to cheat death once per night boss.
Some solo players have come up with their own ways to improve Elden Ring Nightreign's single-player experience. One person released a mod that improves level-scaling in the game, though it does come with a bit of a risk. Players who wish to use the mod should make sure that they're playing offline, as using such mods online can get a player banned. With so much content to enjoy and DLC on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Elden Ring Nightreign.
