Elden Ring Nightreign has a much lower level cap than the original game. Leveling up in Nightreign instead upgrades all your stats, with the exact spread varying from character to character.
It's important to spend your time wisely during each day to make sure you get enough Runes to level up so that you're stats are at the right place to take on the challenging Nightbosses and Nightlord. Here's the recommended level for each night in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Recommended Levels For Each Night In Elden Ring Nightreign
The recommended level for each boss fight is a range, as your overall effectiveness is determined by your skills and character, so it's possible to beat each boss at a lower level if you know what you're doing. That being said, having the right stats will see you dealing much more damage and actually surviving getting hit from powerful attacks, so aside from upgrading your flask, leveling up, and getting to these ranges should be a top priority.

Other Ways Of Preparing For Nights In Elden Ring Nightreign
There are other ways to get stronger, such as finding better weapons or getting stat boosts from defeated bosses, which can have similar effects to leveling up just in a single stat. Leveling up not only increases your overall stats, but it also lets you wield more rare weapons. If you're using a weapon of a rarity you haven't mastered, you won't deal as much damage with it, making it much less effective. You also won't be able to use the skill of the weapon to its fullest potential. Below are the various weapon rarities and the level you master them at:
- Uncommon - Level 3
- Rare - Level 7
- Legendary - Level 10
You can choose to upgrade weapons as long as you have the right materials, just make sure you don't accidentally upgrade a weapon outside of your mastery range and make it temporarily less effective, which can be very bad when playing alone.
After defeating bosses, a cache will drop, offering you two or three options of what reward to choose. While a common drop is a new weapon, these will also often give you a boost in a specific stat or a unique passive skill unique to your character. Even outside of the Runes, defeating bosses is very worthwhile just to get the cache rewards.
