Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have confirmed that Elden Ring Nightreign will launch on Friday, May 30. Elden Ring Nightreign was one of the biggest surprise announcements at last year's Game Awards event. The next title from beloved developer FromSoftware is the second entry in the Elden Ring series, and it is taking the franchise in some bold new directions.

Whereas Elden Ring was a gigantic open world game that took its cues from past FromSoftware titles, Nightreign is something new, blending roguelike elements with class-based gameplay and even some battle royale elements, like a constantly-shrinking map. Nightreign can be played solo or in three-player co-op, with players exploring a procedurally-generated world over the course of three in-game days with the ultimate goal of defeating a difficult final boss at the end of the final day.

Elden Ring Nightreign is certainly trying something new with the IP, and it remains to be seen how fans will react to it. With Elden Ring one of the highest-rated games of all time, there are understandably many fans anxious to see how Nightreign stacks up, and luckily for them, they now know exactly when they will get to play it. It's been confirmed that Elden Ring Nightreign will launch on Friday, May 30 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Some lucky Elden Ring fans will actually get to play Nightreign ahead of the game's May 30 launch date. Those that managed to secure an invite will be able to participate in the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test, which will take place in five distinct sessions. Session 1 will go live on February 14 from 3am to 6am PT, while Session 2 will be live on the same day from 7pm to 10pm PT. Session 3 will be available on February 15 from 11am to 2pm PT, while Session 4 and 5 will both take place on February 6 in the 3am to 6am PT and 7pm to 10pm PT blocks, respectively.

The Network Tests should give fans the chance to try Elden Ring Nightreign's classes and get a general feel for how the final product will turn out, but fans will have to wait until May 30 to truly see everything that the game has to offer. It's possible another test will occur at some point between now and the May 30 release date, one that is more openly available to the public, but plans to that effect have not been announced at the time of this writing.
