Relics are the main way to get stronger in Elden Ring Nightreign, but not all of their effects are clearly explained. One Relic effect that confuses quite a lot of players restores HP with post-damage attacks, and since the game doesn't specify what those are, people are missing out on one of the best buffs in all of Nightreign.

This Relic effect is the same as one of Elden Ring's strongest Great Runes, and fans of a certain other FromSoftware game will feel right at home with this Relic in their loadout. This Relic effect is best suited for aggressive, tanky Nightfarers like the Raider or Guardian, but it still has a place in a few builds for ranged characters like the Recluse or Ironeye.

Ultimate Arts are devastating attacks in Elden Ring Nightreign, and some items have passive abilities that make them even better.

Elden Ring Nightreign Post-Damage Attacks Explained

White Horn Battle - Elden Ring Nightreign

In Elden Ring Nightreign, post-damage attacks are any attacks performed after you get hit by an enemy. With a Relic that grants HP restoration upon post-damage attacks, you can recover some of your lost health just by getting revenge on whatever enemy hit you in the first place.

If you've played Elden Ring before, then this Relic effect is essentially the same as Malenia's Great Rune. It's also basically the same as Bloodborne's aggressive HP recovery mechanics. If you get hit, just hit them back and you'll restore a small portion of HP and save one of your flasks. You can see exactly how much HP can be restored by checking your health bar after taking a hit. A small section of your HP bar will be highlighted for a brief window after taking damage, and that's how much you can heal with revenge attacks.

Ironeye Character Skills & Ultimate Art in Elden Ring Nightreign 1

This Relic effect is one of the strongest in Elden Ring Nightreign depending on your build and playstyle. It's especially helpful for Nightfarers that prefer to get up close and personal with melee attacks like the Raider or Wylder since it lets them focus on dealing damage without having to worry about their own HP as much. Certain types of damage — like arrows and throwables — don't work with this Relic effect, though. If you're an Ironeye main, it might be a good idea to add some other Relics into your loadout for this reason.
