However, even after spending many hours in the Lands Between, players often stumble upon a new hidden dungeon, mysterious NPCs, or a powerful boss they have not seen before. Similar to many other FromSoftware games, the world of Elden Ring includes numerous hidden pathways and optional regions that can easily be missed.

Elden Ring Glitch Hilariously Ruins Player's No-Death Run

An Elden Ring player encounters an unusual glitch during their boss fight against the Flying Dragon Agheel that ends their no-death run.

A Reddit user named RewsterSause revealed that even after spending over 1,000 hours in the game, they just noticed a new path to a popular region. The hidden route takes players from the Frenzied Flame Proscription to the Map (Deeproot Depths). The Deeproot Depths is one of the most popular optional locations in Elden Ring, which can be reached after the Eternal City of Nokron has been unlocked. However, players have discovered that they can enter this region via a secret passage, allowing them to skip the Starscourge Radahn fight and the Gargoyle Twins.

Elden Ring: Hidden Path to Deeproot Depths Explained

The secret path is located in the Frenzied Flame Proscription, an area found beneath Elden Ring's Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, under the Cathedral of the Forsaken Site of Grace. Players first need to reach the bottom level of this area, which is accessible by the coffins sticking out of the wall. Rolling into the southeastern wall will reveal an illusory wall. Inside these walls is a small area with a treasure chest. Rolling into the wall behind the chest will unveil another illusory wall, which opens the path to a Site of Grace called Root-Facing Cliffs.

To reach the Deeproot Depths, players need to carefully drop deeper by following the roots. Many replies in the comment section claim they did not know about this secret passage either and wonder if there are any more secrets yet to be discovered. Despite being an optional area, the Deeproot Depths is one of the favorite locations for many Elden Ring players, especially since it's confirmed that it lies below the Erdtree.

The region plays a key role in Elden Ring's Fia questline and also features the famous Lichdragon Fortissax. The Deeproot Depths also include one of the most popular boss fights, named Fia's Champions, in which the Tarnished fights against five bosses through three phases.
