An Elden Ring player has recently posted a video of a rival gamer who dies to a frost trap while attempting to invade. Elden Ring' s multiplayer system allows fans to face off against others in a variety of zones within The Lands Between. These areas have their own unique characteristics, some of which can be rather dangerous. The recent clip demonstrates that the environment in Elden Ring can be just as deadly as other players.

Elden Ring has been called one of the best open world games of all time in large part because of its complex world. The aforementioned traps that can impact players, alongside hidden enemies, secret items, and relevant lore, come together to create a world that has been enamoring fans from day one. As such, it should come as no surprise that the diverse zones in The Lands Between are capable of defeating unsuspecting players.

Reddit user Public_Storage_355 recently posted a video to the Elden Ring subreddit which shows an invader getting killed by a frost trap. Traps are common in The Lands Between, and they can erupt in fire, ice, or any number of other deadly things. In order to survive them, gamers have to be patient and careful. Not every player pays attention to the environment, however, which can spell doom in Elden Ring's PvP multiplayer.

Indeed, even the best multiplayer items in Elden Ring won't be enough to save players from their deadly surroundings, as the video proves. The clip shows the player lying in wait while an enemy rushes down a corridor, only to be hit from behind by powerful frost. This exemplifies the fact that From Software titles are notoriously difficult, and The Lands Between is perhaps the most perilous location yet. Though it doesn't directly impact combat with other players, fans are forced to be highly aware of their environments in order to survive and emerge victorious. Of course, when invading or being invaded by others, it can be extremely challenging to remain vigilant.

Fortunately, fans don't play Elden Ring because it is easy. Rather, the title is meant to test people to their limits. While defeat from a frost trap is a humorous example of the danger in The Lands Between, nobody can deny that both PvP and the Elden Ring story are perilous activities because of the thorough details that From Software brought to the title. And so, as fans wait for a DLC addition to Elden Ring, they will hopefully continue to experience the wonderful chaos of the content, including the hidden traps and enemies that help make the title so unique.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
