Ruins are a common location in the base game of Elden Ring, where players can acquire a few items and possibly find a chest with a rare item. However, Ruins in the DLC are slightly different, as they are larger in scale and can have multiple mini-bosses roaming nearby that players must defeat to acquire all the loot.

How To Get To Scorched Ruins In Shadow Of The Erdtree

After interacting with the Withered Arm in Mohgwyn Palace, you will be transported to the Realm of Shadow. Proceed out of the small cave to enter Gravesite Plain, the first of many areas in the DLC. There should be a Grace right in front of you to interact with. From the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace, head northeast on your Torrent, and you will soon come across the Scorched Ruins with a Site of Grace nearby to the north.

All Items Found Within Scorched Ruins

From the Scorched Ruins Site of Grace, summon your mount, Torrent, and head south, hugging the wall on the right. As soon as the building on your right ends, turn west, approaching a small broken staircase with multiple Shadow enemies about. Loot the corpse atop the small staircase to acquire the Greater Potentate's Cookbook [1].

Drop down to the bottom floor toward the southwest, and you will find more enemies and a corpse with the Hefty Cracked Pot waiting for you to pick up. Head west, and you will see a building covered in cloth that you can jump up to with your Spectral Steed. Make your way north, jump into the broken building, and climb the stairs. Go through the doorway and head right to approach a bridge of sorts. You must cross over to the other side and look to the left to spot a gate you can open. Behind the door is a chest containing the Blade of Mercy Talisman.
