Since it first released earlier this year, Elden Ring has captivated a number of players within the gaming community. With large, detailed landscapes for players to explore, complex gameplay mechanics, and a multitude of difficult boss fights to overcome, Elden Ring certainly has a lot of content to offer. However, one player recently took it to task to defeat one of the hardest bosses in Elden Ring in a very symbolic way.
Given how dense the narrative and lore of Elden Ring inherently is, a lot of story details can often get lost on the player. One such plot detail being Godrick the Grafted's humiliating defeat at the hands of Malenia, Blade of Miquella. The battle of the two demigods is widely known in the Lands Between, but recently, a player managed to avenge Godrick's defeat, in a sense.
Over on Reddit, a user named itsjohnnyboi1 posted a gameplay clip of them defeating Malenia while wearing the Soldier of Godrick armor. Not only does this metaphorically shows one of Godrick's soldiers exacting vengeance on Malenia, but perhaps the most impressive part of this clip is the fact that the player manages to beat Malenia with only a sliver of health left.
This player managed to do a great job of properly illustrating the world building of Elden Ring in quite a unique way, despite how dense the storytelling is. For a number of players, especially newcomers, the narrative of Elden Ring is a confusing, with game director Hidetaka Miyazaki even explaining the story of Elden Ring in an interview, but the rivalry between Godrick and Malenia is one of the easiest plot points to understand, and this user managed to showcase that rivalry through creative means.
It's amazing to see how much Elden Ring has influenced its player base in such a short timeframe. The amount of attention and excitement that Elden Ring received in the years leading up to its release was quite palpable and the fact that FromSoftware managed to deliver an experience that exceeded the expectations of many who played Elden Ring is quite the accomplishment.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Elden Ring going forward. Many fans are already wondering when DLC for Elden Ring could potentially release, but that likely won't be for a long while. Considering the size and scale of the content already presented in Elden Ring, the development of additional content would take a considerable amount of time.
Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
