The Shortbow is the first and easiest bow for players to get right at the start of the game. First, players will need to be able to summon Torrent in Elden Ring. While this isn't a requirement, it will help to run past the troll. Starting from the First Step Site of Grace, travel west, heading toward the coast. Players will see a ramp leading down to the beach with a troll along the path.

Run past the troll and after reaching the troll, turn left to face east and follow the beach to the rock formation straight ahead. Under the rock formation will be a Nomadic Merchant who is selling a Shortbow for 600 runes. If players are a bit further and have unlocked the Roundtable Hold, the Twinmaiden Husks will be selling a Longbow for 1,200 Runes. Whichever bow players pick, getting arrows in Elden Ring will be the next thing to worry about. Arrows come in all sorts of forms to give bow users great versatility in the elemental damage they do.

Where To Get An Early Game Crossbow In Elden Ring

For those looking for a similar but slightly different option than a bow, there is an early game crossbow players can buy just a short trip south. Across the bridge south of Limgrave will lead players to the Weeping Peninsula. Following the major road further south will lead to the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace, with a Nomadic Merchant sitting next to the Grace. This merchant will be selling a Light Crossbow for 1,500 Runes.
