Apotheosis is one of the best options for mages trying to test a full Magicka build in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. A staff that causes all types of elemental damage at the same time, with a mid-tier enchantment and that can be obtained relatively early, will come in handy for any spellcaster who doesn't want to turn to the bow or any of the melee weapons in the game.
Oblivion Remastered: Best Witchhunter Build Guide
Here's a full Class guide with some of the best tips to become the most fearsome Witchhunter in Oblivion Remastered.
In this guide, players will find out about the location of the Apotheosis staff, how to get it, and how to use it effectively in combat. First, let's pinpoint the exact spot where players can pick up this useful tool of Destruction.
Where To Find Apotheosis In Oblivion Remastered
Players need to travel to the Imperial City's Market District in order to acquire Apotheosis, and find the shop called Rindir's Staffs. Talking to the owner of the shop and browsing through his wares will reveal that the cost of the staff is around 5000 Gold and will go up or down depending on the player's Merchantile skill and Rindir's favorability.
The Staff causes 33 Frost, 33 Shock, and 33 Fire damage, for a whooping 99 total elemental damage (minus resistances) at low level. If players were able to get the gold needed to buy Apotheosis, they would notice they have practically acquired a cheat weapon that can eliminate higher-tier enemies (like Imperial Guards and Battlemages) in only two hits. This can save players countless hours leveling their Destruction skill to be able to cast a powerful enough spell that replicates these effects (Like Greater Elemental Flare).

Best Ways To Use Apotheosis In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
Mages in Oblivion Remastered might have drawn the shorter stick, with their slow scaling, absolute squishiness, and near-incapability to escape enemies' frontal assaults if they lack Magicka. And due to the high inefficiency of low/mid-tier spells, they will probably be out of Magicka in three to four spells.
But thanks to Apotheosis, this lack of energy to cast spells becomes less of a problem. Players going full mage will also notice that the Staffs have charges (like any enchanted weapon) that can be returned using Soul Gems, which in turn, are charged by killing enemies under the effect of the Soul Trap spell.
Once players acquire the Soul Trap spell and its higher versions, they can go on a rampage through Cyrodiil, switching between Apotheosis and Soul Trap to create an infinite loop of Destruction. Here's the best way to use it in combat:
- Mark an enemy using Soul Trap or Greater Soul Trap (at higher levels, players can mark all surrounding enemies using Superior and Legendary Soul Trap).
- Cast Weakness to Magicka (or its superior versions) to reduce the target's elemental resistances to all types.
- Use Apotheosis to cast an elemental bolt.
- Collect the Soul Stones filled and recharge the Staff when needed.
It is important to mention that players need Soul Gems of various sizes to capture certain souls. The higher the level of the enemy (humanoids, Draemora, etc.) Is, the bigger the Soul Gems required for the spell to successfully trap their souls.
Players can also use Varla Stones to recharge all the Energy of the Staff at once, but this is an extremely inefficient way to play a mage, since Varla Stones are quite rare (except that players are using the duplication glitch) and will be bad for players in the long run.
Another great way to play with Apotheosis is to use large AoE spells like Blizzard, which cause slow effects on enemies, then eliminate targets by targeting them with the staff's bolt attack.
