Porphyric Hemophilia can turn players into Vampires. Here's how to cure it in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

To become a vampire in Oblivion, players can look below to find the steps they need so that they can become a creature of the night and enjoy the sweet taste of blood on their victims and relish in the new set of powers that will benefit their ghastly, evil ways.

How to Turn Into a Vampire in Oblivion Remastered

The fastest and easiest way to get vampirism in Oblivion Remastered is to head inside the Barren Cave, which is found on the east road from Imperial City on the way to Cheydinhal, just below the Blue Road. Once inside the Blue Cave, players will find two hostile vampires. Players will need to take hits from the vampires, where eventually they will contract Porphyric Hemophilia, as noted by the top left corner of the screen. Porphyric Hemophilia is the earliest sign of vampirism, and once this has been contracted, players can leave the Barren Cave.

It's also possible to become a vampire by completing all of Vicente Valtieri's contracts in the Dark Brotherhood, but that takes far longer than just heading to the Barren Cave.

With Porphyric Hemophilia, it's time to spend a few in-game days waiting. Players will need to wait 3 in-game days, and then sleep on the third day. Doing so will finish with a pop-up text screen that confirms that players are now vampires, so be prepared to stalk the night from now on.

What Are the Disadvantages of Being a Vampire in Oblivion Remastered?

vampire in the sun

Unfortunately, there are far too many negatives to being a vampire than there are positives. Firstly, and most importantly, is that players will not be able to go outside or walk in the daylight. Players are now relegated to walking through the night, or else they will burn up in the sun and take damage for every second that the sun is out. In addition to taking damage from the sun, players will have a weakness to fire, which isn't great considering the Oblivion enemies use fire.

In addition to fire damage, players will also not be able to interact with NPCs once they reach stage 4 of vampirism. This really prevents players from completing quests and enjoying other adventures in Oblivion Remastered, as they will need to feed off of other NPCs in order to remove the stage 4 effects.

How to Feed as a Vampire in Oblivion Remastered

feeding as a vampire

Now that players are vampires, they will grow hungry. For every day that they are a vampire and they do not feed, their stage of vampirism will increase up to stage 4. In order to satisfy the vampire's hunger, players will need to feed on humanoid NPCs, but these NPCs must not be dead. Players can only feed on sleeping NPCs, so try to break into people's homes at night and sneak towards sleeping NPCs to interact with them, which will lower the stages of vampirism back to stage 1. If players are caught feeding, then guards will immediately become hostile to them.
