Ectoplasm,
Bonemeal, and
Mort Flesh are all alchemical ingredients in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. In addition to being useful in various potion and poison recipes, one of these ingredients is required to start the Daedric quest for Meridia.
Players looking to obtain the Ring of Khajiiti, an exclusive reward for completing Meridia's quest, will want to know where to find Ectoplasm, Bonemeal, or Mort Flesh; the only requirement to make an offering to Meridia is 'an ingredient from an undead creature,' and all three of these ingredients qualify.
Where to Get Troll Fat in Oblivion Remastered
Troll Fat is an alchemical ingredient with multiple uses in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered that's also required to start Malacath's quest.
Where to Get Ectoplasm in Oblivion Remastered
Ectoplasm can be obtained as loot from dead Will-o-the-Wisps and Ghosts, bought from Alchemy Merchants, or found as static loot.
Ghosts are very easy to find in most Ayleid Ruins, including the one you visit as part of the Mages Guild questline, Vahtecen's Secret. Will-o-the-Wisps spawn as higher-level enemies that appear in caves and swamp biomes. They are much harder to kill compared to Ghosts and are considered extremely dangerous enemies.
Ghosts and Will-o-the-Wisps can only be damaged using Magic, Daedric, Enchanted, or Silver weapons. High-level hand-to-hand attacks can also work, but regular weapons are useless against them.
Where to Get Bonemeal in Oblivion Remastered
Bonemeal can be obtained from Skeletons and Liches, bought from Alchemy Merchants, or found as static loot. Skeletons are lower-level enemies and are easier to fight than Liches. Additionally, Skeletons spawn in larger numbers and are easy to encounter inside caves. Since they are low-level enemies, players can look for them right from the start of the game.
Already dead skeletons found in various caves also drop Bonemeal.
Some confirmed locations where you can find Skeleton encounters are:
|
Underpall Cave |
Between Bruma and Chorrol |
|
Smoke Hole Cave |
Between Kvatch and Anvil |
|
Vilverin Ayleid Ruins |
Northeast of Imperial City |
Mages Guild members who reach the Apprentice rank can find multiple pieces of Bonemeal in The Arcane University (Chironasium, Mystic Archives, and Praxographical Center). Many Bonemeals can also be found in Agarmir's House's Basement in the Talos Plaza District of Imperial City.
Where to Get Mort Flesh in Oblivion Remastered
Mort Flesh can be obtained from slain Zombies, bought from Alchemy Merchants, or found as static loot. Zombies can be encountered all over the world but are more common in caves and Ayleid Ruins.
Zombies have low-level and high-level variants, and depending on the Hero's level, what they encounter may be different. All Zombies drop Mort Flesh, with the exception of Deranged Zombies, which can only be encountered during the Skingrad Recommendation quest to join the Mages Guild.
Where to Find Alchemy Merchants in Oblivion Remastered
The easiest way to start Meridia's Daedric Quest is to go to any Alchemy vendor and look for any of the three ingredients: Ectoplasm, Bonemeal, or Mort Flesh. Buy whichever one you see; they're all roughly the same price, and go back to the Shrine of Meridia to make the offering. Some notable Alchemy vendors can be found in the following locations:
