Summary

- Vampirism in the game can lead to dying from sunlight, but cures exist to avoid this fate.
- Accidental deaths in the game include falling off cliffs while shooting arrows and being followed by guards into Oblivion Gates.
Despite its fancy new coat, Oblivion Remastered is still the same old game beneath the hood, and with that comes a healthy amount of lovable jank, which can lead to some fairly humorous deaths. With the number of spells, unique enemies, and steep cliffs, there is also enough chaos for player mistakes to lead to funny deaths in Oblivion Remastered.
Thankfully, with frequent autosaves, these deaths are rarely frustrating, and players are often left laughing, especially if ragdoll physics are at play.
6 Die From Sunlight As A Vampire
At High Levels Of Vampirism, The Sun Starts Dealing Damage
There are a few ways to become a vampire in Oblivion Remastered, such as being bitten by vampires in the Barren Cave. If players don't find a way to cure themselves, the condition will become more powerful, bringing about positive and negative effects alike.
Eventually, the sun will start dealing damage every second that players remain outside during the day. Thus, it is quite possible to die from sunlight in Oblivion Remastered. If players want to avoid death by sun, there are thankfully a number of cures for vampirism.
5 Walk Backwards Of A Cliff While Shooting Arrows
One Of The Many Ways To Find Ou There Is Fall Damage
Due to how long it can take to kill certain enemies, archers in Oblivion Remastered may find themselves firing arrow after arrow, all while kiting backwards to avoid damage. Unfortunately, there are plenty of locations in Cyrodiil, the Shivering Isles, and the Planes of Oblivion where walking backward without looking is not a good idea.
Best Places For Farming Enchanted Items In Oblivion Remastered
This list of the best places to get Enchanted Items in Oblivion Remastered has some cool info on where players should invest their time farming.
If players are already low on health or the distance of the fall is substantial, this can very easily result in death. Those who play in first-person mode are most susceptible to this accidental death, and mages can be prone to it as well as archers.
4 Guards Can Follow You Into An Oblivion Gate & Kill You
Justice Apparently Extends Beyond Cyrodiil
Upon entering an Oblivion Gate, players should be prepared to see all kinda of dark creatures and should even watch out for land mines. However, one thing they probably don't expect to see is the Imperial Guard chasing after them all the way into a Plane of Oblivion.
In rare cases, however, after players have committed a crime, this can occur, even long after they were initially being chased. In fact, the guards can even follow the player all the way to the top of one of the towers inside an Oblivion Gate, and if there are enough of them or the player is weakened from facing other foes, they could die. Naturally, they will be called criminal scum first, which just sounds more hilarious surrounded by fire and lava on a quest to save the world.
3 Roleplaying As A True Criminal At The Start Of The Game
Get Killed By The Emperor's Guards
At the start of Oblivion Remastered, and of course, in the original too, players find themselves in a prison cell. What their crime was is left to the imagination, but if players get a bit too much in character as a criminal, they may anger the guards and be killed.
For example, after refusing to stand by the window for some time like a true rebel, players could attack the Emperor or his guards when they finally enter the cell. Admittedly, it does take a few attacks before they respond, but with them killing the unknown hero who will never be, this is a fairly humorous way to doom Cyrodiil and the rest of the world.
2 Sleeping In Hackdirt
The Hackdirt Brethren Don't Like Visitors
If players ever stumble upon the village of Hackdirt in Oblivion Remastered, they will notice there's something quite odd about it. One way to find the village is to first enter the caverns below it and then head up to the surface via one of the many trapdoors.
If players then decide to sleep in one of the Hackdirt houses, perhaps to level up, they will most likely receive a rude awakening. However, this won't be from the house owner who would call the guards. Instead, players will be instantly attacked and often overwhelmed by the Hackdirt Brethren, whom they may have already encountered in the caverns.
1 Be Invisible In Front Of An Archery Target
Some NPCs Occasionally Practice Archery
There are a few archery targets found throughout Oblivion Remastered, although it should be noted that using these does not level up the Marksman skill. However, this doesn't stop a few NPCs from occasionally using them to test their skills with a bow. If, for some reason, the player were to go invisible in front of one of these archery targets, then they may be accidentally hit.
Of course, players would have to be low enough on health to die from an arrow, unless they are willing to stand there while taking many more shots. Nevertheless, this can be a funny way to turn an unknowing NPC into a murderer. For those looking to become invisible for this reason or more likely for proper stealth gameplay, consider getting 100% Chameleon.
