Cyrodil is a big place in Oblivion Remastered, and while you will spend a lot of time exploring every last corner of it, there is more that you can do beyond that. On your adventures, you will come across all sorts of ingredients that you can pick up. From herbs to food, everything has its use in Oblivion Remastered. In fact, if you want to improve your Alchemy skill, you will want to go out of your way whenever you see some herbs, even if it isn't
Nirnroot.
All Oblivion Remastered Difficulty Levels Explained
There are multiple difficulty levels to choose from in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, but what exactly do they do?
How to Increase Alchemy Skill in Oblivion Remastered
There are two main methods for improving your Alchemy skill in Oblivion Remastered. First, you can eat the ingredients that you find. Regardless of if it is a flower or an apple, eating random ingredients has a chance to increase your Alchemy skill. The drawback to this method is that it is much slower, and you often need to eat a lot of ingredients. This means you will have fewer ingredients to use for making potions.
The second method for increasing your Alchemy skill is to gather up enough ingredients and make a bunch of potions. This method is much faster, but it also requires that you have enough ingredients to actually craft more than one or two potions. So if you see a bunch of herbs while you are exploring, make sure to take the time to gather all of them. Most ingredients don't weigh much at all, so you can gather quite a few of them without having to worry about inventory space.
Finally, you can also increase your Alchemy skill if you find an Alchemy Skill Book. These books increase your skill by one level. However, they can only be used once. So, while they are a nice boost to your skill, they are a one-time bonus, and creating potions is the best method for increasing your Alchemy skill.
Benefits of Increasing Alchemy Skill in Oblivion Remastered
Just like with other skills in Oblivion Remastered, there are benefits that you permanently unlock when a skill reaches a certain threshold. There are five skill levels: Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, and Master. For Alchemy, you gain the following benefits at the following skill levels.
- Novice (0-25): You can see one property of all alchemical ingredients.
- Apprentice (25-49): You can see two properties of all alchemical ingredients.
- Journeyman (50-74): You can see three properties of all alchemical ingredients.
- Expert (75-99): You can see four properties of all alchemical ingredients.
- Master (100): Potions can now be made with a single ingredient, but only the first effect chosen is used.
