Oblivion Remastered's dungeons contain both fierce enemies and various puzzles. The latter can be particularly tricky, such as those in Fort Bulwark. So in this guide, we'll tell you how to solve Wisdom of the Ages puzzles in Oblivion Remastered.
Wisdom of the Ages is a side quest that players can begin after meeting Sir Henrik during the Priory of the Nine quest. The reward for completing it is the Shield of the Crusader and more common loot. But to do so, you'll have to complete several puzzles.
Oblivion Remastered: How To Walk On Water
Water Walking is a rare and popular effect in Oblivion Remastered that makes on-foot traversal around the map a lot easier.
Wisdom of the Ages Puzzle Solution
The goal of the Wisdom of the Ages quest is to find the Shield of the Crusader in Fort Bulwark. Once you receive the quest, the desired point will be marked on your map. However, finding the Fort is the easiest task. Inside, you will find traps, Conjurers, and 3 puzzles. You can get to the Shield of the Crusader only by solving them all. Here are the solutions for each of the Wisdom of the Ages quests in Oblivion Remastered.
Tiles Puzzle
The first puzzle in Fort Bulwark is a small corridor with 12 tiles in a row of 3. At the end of the corridor, you will find a closed grate which opens by pressing on the correct tiles. It is worth noting that you must press one tile in each row:
- The Leftmost tile of the first row
- The Middle tile of the second row
- The Rightmost tile of the third row
- The leftmost tile of the fourth row
Just step on them in the correct order, and you will be able to explore Fort Bulwark further.
Statues Puzzle
Moving further along the intricate corridors, you will come to a room with 4 statues facing different directions in Oblivion Remastered. Also, on the floor between them, you can notice a stone sign. The solution to this Wisdom of the Ages puzzle is to rotate all the statues so that their faces look at the sign on the floor. To do this, players can use the crank at the base of each statue.
Where To Buy Mage Equipment In Oblivion Remastered
Here's where to buy Mage Gear in Oblivion Remastered, including vendors for robes, staves, and other useful items for spellcasters.
Rodger’s Chest puzzle
The last puzzle separating you from the Shield of the Crusader is the most difficult and confusing. You will find a room with a Rodger's chest in the center and 8 regular ones near the walls. In addition, next to the golden chest, there is a pressure plate that shows a projection of the item on one of the chests.
For this puzzle, players must take an item from Rodger's chest and then place it in the correct chest by the wall, then repeat this 7 more times. However, the item immediately disappears, so you can not then move it between regular chests. Also, the pressure plate shows another projection only after you put the item in the chest, whether correctly or not.
In other words, the puzzle implies that you put items in random chests several times and, along the way, remember their correct placement in Oblivion Remastered. But to make your life easier, you can use the hint below.
The items are placed in clockwise order, starting from the right side, assuming you are facing Rodger's chest:
- Rodgar's Stone
- Rodgar's Helm
- Rodgar's Goblet
- Rodgar's Sword
- Rodgar's Book
- Rodgar's Hammer
- Rodgar's Skull
- Rodgar's Gem
When you place an item in the appropriate chest, the statue behind it rotates. And after you place all the items, the door to the Shield of the Crusader will open.
