There are many gameplay additions to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered that weren't in the original. One of these is the ability to sprint, with players finally able to travel faster in Cyrodiil without a horse. Speaking of horses, players are also able to gallop now.
Oblivion Remastered: 7 Biggest Differences From The Original Game
Compared to the original, Oblivion Remastered changes much of the visuals and gameplay – but these differences don't sacrifice the game's soul.
Sprinting in Oblivion Remastered allows players to escape dangerous enemies, kite while using ranged attacks, and run away faster after committing crimes. There are also ways to increase the movement speed of walking, running, sprinting, and swimming, with these all being tied to the Speed Attribute.
How To Sprint In Oblivion Remastered
Sprinting is straightforward in Oblivion: Remastered and is unlocked from the start of the game. The following buttons for each platform must be held, as there is no way to toggle sprinting on.
- Xbox: Left Stick
- PlayStation: Left Stick
- PC: Left Shift (This binding can be changed in the options)
These same buttons can also be used to gallop on horseback. PC users can also use Caps Lock to toggle walking on and off.
How To Get More Fatigue/Stamina & Regen
To be able to sprint for longer distances before running out of Fatigue, players will want to increase their maximum Fatigue and its regeneration.
- Maximum Fatigue: Determined by the Willpower Attribute, and Agility helps slightly.
- Fatigue Regeneration: Determined by the Agility Attribute.
Attribute points can be spent upon leveling up.
Be careful not to run out of Fatigue in combat, as a hit will cause you to be knocked down.
Leveling up Athletics is also great, as at early levels, Fatigue will recover faster while running. Beyond Level 50, sprinting will start using less Fatigue. At Level 100 Athletics, sprinting no longer consumes Fatigue at all.
Athletics can be leveled up by running, sprinting, and swimming, with the latter arguably being the best.

How To Increase Movement Speed In Oblivion Remastered
The Speed Attribute
The Speed Attribute dictates the character's movement speed when walking, running, sprinting, and swimming.
Extra points can be allocated to Speed upon leveling up in Oblivion Remastered. The Steed Birthsign also increases Speed by 20, and the Thief increases it by 10, but only one of these can be selected during the tutorial.
Athletics Skill
Beyond improving Fatigue regeneration, the Athletics skill also improves movement speed. Taking a class that has this as a Major Skill will start it off at higher levels, and it is improved by running, swimming, and sprinting.
Speed Spells & Potions
Throughout the game, players will find a number of potions to temporarily increase their movement speed or restore Fatigue. There are also spells to be learned that have similar effects.
