The full calculation for a character's starting Health value is their Endurance attribute multiplied by two with any additional bonus effects added on top. Taking Birthsigns like The Lady or The Warrior will provide bonuses to Endurance, which makes characters start the game with a beefier HP bar.

Maximum health is increased every time a player levels up, and the amount of HP gained depends on the character's Endurance level.
