The time has come to finally meet the Gray Fox in Oblivion Remastered, and the notorious mascot of the Thieves Guild requests the player's attendance to aid in an elusive quest chain. For the thieves who have made it this far by completing the Doyen quests for Armand Christophe and S'Krivva, congratulations, and make the preparations for the ultimate heist.

Arrow of Extrication Walkthrough in Oblivion Remastered

The Arrow of Extrication can be a hard item to steal in Oblivion Remastered for players who are trying to rise through the Thieves Guild's ranks.

To start, the Gray Fox must test the sneak and stealing abilities of the player in Oblivion Remastered through the Turning a Blind Eye quest, which might not be the hardest, but still has its challenges due to the abundance of dangerous blind monks that lurk within treasured halls to protect a desirable relic.

How to Start the Turning a Blind Eye Quest in Oblivion Remastered

Players must have completed all previous quests with S'Krivva, concluding with Taking Care of Lex, in order to reach the first set of requirements for the Turning a Blind Eye quest. The next step involves having fenced a total of 600 Gold at the Thieves Guild Fences, easily achieved by selling stolen goods, like jewelry, to Orrin in Anvil's Castle in the Smithy area.

Once players have fenced enough gold, head to the Imperial City's Waterfront District and wait 24 in-game hours. Doing so should see players interrupted and approached by Methredhel, who will tell players to meet the Gray Fox at Helvius Cecia's House in Bruma. The Gray Fox can be found on the lower floor of the house, and speaking with him will have players accept the Turning a Blind Eye quest.

How to Get Inside the Ancestor Moth Crypt in Oblivion Remastered

To begin, players will need to travel to the Temple of the Ancestor Moths, which is found in the north region of Cheydinhal. In order to actually access the interior of the temple, players will need to speak with Brother Holger. Brother Holger will help players if they use his persuasion wheel and get his Disposition to 80+ either through bribes or the minigame. Upon doing so, ask him about Savilla's Stone, and he will guide players through to the catacombs of the blind monks.

How to Get Savilla's Stone in Oblivion Remastered

Now that players have accessed the deeper parts of the blind Moth Monk's crypt, players have two options to proceed. They can either go in loud, forfeiting attempts at stealth, which will see them forced into battle with katana-wielding monks (but at no penalty or Blood Price), or they can try and sneak past them. Players will have to decide for themselves how they wish to proceed, but sneaking through the temple isn't difficult since the monks will either be sitting down or sleeping, but they have great hearing, so don't get too close and avoid wearing boots. The only real threat players need to look out for is the wraith enemy, since this ghost type can only be killed with enchanted weapons, silver weapons, fists, or magic.

Once players have reached the deeper caverns of the Ancestor Moth Crypt, they will see a red crystal in the center. This crystal is hostile if players get close, and it will shoot out blasts of frost, so just try to avoid it as the projectiles are quite slow. Players can either sneak past or kill the Blind Moth Prelate, as his fate does not matter. What does matter is Savilla's Stone, which is found on the right of the red crystal. To safely leave the area with Savilla's Stone, head to the northeast area where players can enter a cave with a ladder that will take them outside. Before this ladder is a chest with some loot, but most noticeably is the Instructions: the Gray Cowl note, which allows players to ask lore questions to the Gray Fox. Once outside, head back to Helvius Cecia's House in Bruma to complete the quest and be rewarded with 500 Gold.
