There are some minor landmarks that can give you great benefits, but aren’t visible on the map. Among these minor landmarks are rune stones, powerful stone formations covered in, well, runes, that give you certain boons when activated. There aren’t any requirements for activating a rune stone, but they can be difficult to find if you don’t know where to look.

What Are Rune Stones, And How Do They Work?

Rune stones are a minor landmark that players can find scattered around Cyrodiil. There are three types of rune stones: Hestra, Reman, and Sidri-Ashak. Each rune stone gives the player a different kind of bound weapon and armor.

Unfortunately, the summoned items only remain for a short amount of time, around 5 minutes of real-world time. However, these stones can be used multiple times a day. They cannot be unequipped until their duration runs out.

Each stone can only be activated once per day, though other stones of the same type can be activated.

Hestra Rune Stone Locations in Oblivion Remastered

Hestra Rune Stones give the player a Bound Dagger and Gauntlet. The gauntlets give you 3 armor, while the dagger gives you 5 damage. Hestra Rune stones glow a light green color and are found at ten locations within Cyrodiil.

It is easier to spot rune stones at night because of their characteristic glowing runes.

Reman Rune Stone Locations in Oblivion Remastered

The Reman Rune Stones grow a peculiar cyan color and arguably give the player the best armor and weapon combo. It grants you a two handed sword and a cuirass. The sword deals 10 damage while the cuirass has an armor rating of 6. These stones are found in nine locations.

Two icons, one for the bound weapon and one for the bound armor, are located on the bottom left of the screen when a rune stone is activated. You can use these icons to tell how much time is left before your bound equipment disappears.

Sidri-Ashak Rune Stone Locations in Oblivion Remastered

Sidri-Ashak Rune Stones have a bright green glow and are the best choice for long-range players, as they give you a Bound Bow and a bound helmet. The bow has a damage rating of 7 while the bound helmet has an armor rating of 3. Combined, they make for a balanced build for an archer. These stones are only found at five locations in the game.
