Alchemy is a huge part of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, and players can acquire higher-level versions of the Mortar and Pestle, Retort, Calcinator, and Alembic to power up their potions even further. While most Alchemy tools can be purchased from shops in Oblivion Remastered, players cannot find master-level Alchemy tools in stores. Master-tier alchemy tools are significantly rarer than other rarities, and players will have to visit some of the most dangerous places in Cyrodiil to obtain them.
While players can brew potions and poisons with any Alchemy tools in Oblivion Remastered, higher levels of tools like the Mortar and Pestle will enhance the qualities of brewed potions even further. Only one type of tool is required to create potions, but having all four Alchemy tools at once will increase the magnitude and duration of positive effects, reduce negative side effects, and more. As such, master-tier Alchemy tools are highly sought after in Oblivion Remastered.

Go Fish is one of the first side quests in Oblivion Remastered, but finding the fish in question can be a hassle.
Where to Get Master Alchemy Tools in Oblivion Remastered
Master Alchemy tools cannot be purchased from merchants in Oblivion Remastered. Instead, master-level Alchemy tools only appear in dungeons after the player reaches level 17. Other tiers of Alchemy equipment can be purchased from shops, but master tools must be found in the wild.
The best places to find master-level Alchemy tools in Oblivion Remastered are dungeons inhabited by mages and spellcasters. Necromancers have been known to use Cyrodiil's caves and dungeons as hideouts since the Mages Guild has banned the practice, and rogue mages can be found in dungeons as well. Chests in these dungeons have a chance to contain Alchemy tools, and if the player is a high-enough level, there is a chance that these tools will be master-level.
Here's a list of dungeons that have a chance of containing master-level Alchemy tools in Oblivion Remastered:
- Echo Cave, west of Bruma
- Silorn, southeast of Skingrad
- Hame, southeast of Cheydinhal
- Moss Rock Cavern, north of the Imperial City
- Wendelbek, east of Bravil
- Bloodrun Cave, east of Bravil
- Bramblepoint Cave, east of Bravil
- Dark Fissure, southeast of Cheydinhal
- Ceyatatar, southwest of the Imperial City
- Fort Bulwark, northeast of Leywiin
- Fort Rayles, northwest of Chorrol
- Varondo, north of Kvatch
- Fieldhouse Cave, northeast of Leyawiin
- Fort Entius, east of Bravil
These dungeons can be found all across Cyrodiil, and some of them are even tied to quests. The Mages Guild questline in particular sends players to deal with groups of rogue Necromancers, and some NPCs will mention caves if the player asks about rumors in Cyrodiil's major cities. As a general rule of thumb, if the player is above level 17 and finds spellcasters in a dungeon, there's a good chance that the dungeon can reward them with master-tier Alchemy tools.
Dungeons reset every 72 in-game hours in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, so players can farm these caves and forts repeatedly until they acquire the tools they need. While master-level Alchemy tools aren't required to brew some of the strongest potions in Oblivion Remastered, like Chameleon, they're still incredibly useful and will make players' potions even more powerful.
