There are countless side quests to discover throughout Cyrodiil in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and one of the first optional missions that players can encounter is called Go Fish. This quest tasks Oblivion Remastered players with collecting rare Rumare Slaughterfish scales for an aging fisherman, and there's a unique enchanted reward waiting at the end.
Go Fish is an easy quest in Oblivion Remastered, but some players are having trouble tracking down all 12 of the Rumare Slaughterfish required to complete it. Thankfully, they're not located too far from the quest's starting location. Some players can struggle against the Slaughterfish, especially at low levels, but they're manageable with the right strategy.
Oblivion Remastered: Adoring Fan Location & Recruitment Guide
To unlock the Adoring Fan, and recruit the Adoring Fan follower, Oblivion Remastered players must make their way to the Imperial Arena.
How to Complete Go Fish in Oblivion Remastered
The Go Fish quest begins at the village of Weye, a small settlement to the west of the Imperial City. It's located just across the bridge, so most players will pass through Weye on the way to Weynon Priory at the start of the game.
A fisherman named Aelwin requests the player's aid, kicking off the Go Fish quest. If players choose to laugh at Aelwin when they first meet him, though, they'll be locked out of the quest since Aelwin won't want to speak to them anymore.
Aelwin needs players to collect a dozen Rumare Slaughterfish scales. These special Slaughterfish can only be found in the waters near Weye, and the quest markers will direct players straight to them. The Detect Life spell is also super helpful for revealing the Rumare Slaughterfish amidst the murky water as well.
The Rumare Slaughterfish are deadly for low-level adventurers, so it's recommended to stock up on healing potions and other items before diving into the water in search of them. Thankfully, there's no time limit for this quest, so players can heal up whenever necessary and take as long as they need to hunt down the full dozen. After the scales are collected, players simply need to return to Aelwin to complete the quest. The Jewel of the Rumare, a special enchanted ring, is the reward for Go Fish.
This is just one of many side quests that players can find while exploring Cyrodiil in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, but there are even longer side quest chains to discover throughout the province. The Dark Brotherhood beckons bloodthirsty adventurers, and there are multiple guilds to join as well.
