A modder is currently creating a mod that will add the world and lore of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind to FromSoftware's Elden Ring. Since its debut in 2002, Morrowind has earned the reputation of being one of the greatest games of all time, taking home multiple Game of the Year awards. Though the title is pretty impeccable right out of the box, it is pretty dated at over 20 years old. So while waiting and hoping for an official remaster, people are regularly creating mods and ports to try to bring the iconic RPG into the modern era.
One of the biggest mods ever is in fact "Project Tamriel" for Morrowind. It aims to bring all of Tamriel into the third Elder Scrolls game's “world-space and timeline,” while also keeping the original lore that was later altered for Oblivion and Skyrim. A similar mod is "Tamriel Rebuilt" that adds the entirety of the Morrowind mainland into The Elder Scrolls 3 for exploration. It also preserves the game's lore while fleshing out the world with new cities, people, and stories to discover.

Elden Ring and The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind Meet Thanks to a Mod
YouTuber and Elden Ring modder InfernoPlus is currently in the process of creating a mod that will bring The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind into FromSoftware’s Elden Ring. In other words, it ports the entirety of Bethesda’s groundbreaking RPG into the Elden Ring engine, thereby updating the graphics and controls, but incorporating the combat of a Souls game. The project is currently about halfway done and originally began as a port into Dark Souls 3.
In a couple of YouTube videos, InfernoPlus gave a tour of the progress so far, and the Morrowind port has clearly benefitted from Elden Ring’s more modern lighting and weather system. Each region of the expansive Morrowind map has its own atmosphere. The Ashlands, for example, are gray and overcast, while the Bitter Coast is swampy and rainy. InfernoPlus also used the opportunity to convert the Bethesda RPG’s regular swamps into the dreaded FromSoftware poisonous bogs.
While the world of Morrowind has been successfully ported in to Elden Ring’s engine, the mod is obviously still incomplete, and InfernoPlus is asking for assistance in completing the task. There is currently no gameplay, clothing and armor needs a modern overhaul, and the Soulslike bosses need to be “Morrowindified,” for starters.
While waiting for this ambitious project to be completed, there are numerous other mods for fans to check out, many of which attempt to improve the graphics of the aging game so that fans can enjoy the breathtaking locations of Morrowind with a bit of polish. Or expand the explorable area. Other mods, like “Lyithdonea - The Azurian Isles,” flesh out missing areas of the map to give players a bit more locations to explore from The Elder Scrolls' deep lore.
