Summary

  • Enotria: The Last Song will not launch for Xbox on August 21, focusing on PC and PlayStation to ensure a superior experience.
  • Jyamma Games delayed Enotria's release to August 21 to avoid competition with Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
  • Enotria will feature three regions for players to explore, along with 40 hours of content and over 100 unique enemies to face.

Developer Jyamma Games has announced that its upcoming soulslike RPG, Enotria: The Last Song, will not release on Xbox come its August 21 release day. However, the Italian developer has not completely shut the door on a later Xbox release.

Enotria: The Last Song is one of the many games that soulslike fans are looking forward to this year. In a recent announcement, Jyamma CEO Jacky Greco explained that Enotria includes three regions with more than 40 hours of gameplay and over 100 unique enemies. Greco further explained that the Italian folklore-inspired game focuses on some of the most important aspects to soulslike players, such as diversity of builds and weaponry. Jyamma is an indie studio made up of about 60 employees, but Greco said he's proud of the relatively small team's work.

One of 2023's Best Soulslikes Hits Incredible Player Milestone

One of the most critically acclaimed soulslikes of 2023 passes an incredible player milestone, reaffirming that the genre is stronger than ever.

Greco also confirmed that Enotria: The Last Song will release on PlayStation and PC on August 21, but not Xbox. This was done in the interest of "ensuring a superior experience for PC and PlayStation 5 players," but the CEO said that the studio would reevaluate the viability of an Xbox launch after release. This decision is likely due to Jyamma Games' small team, which can only allocate resources to so many avenues of Enotria's development. Its potential Xbox release later on could be based on the game's initial success. Those planning to play Enotria on PlayStation or PC will soon have access to a demo, Greco said, which Jyamma is using to gather player feedback and give on-the-fence buyers an opportunity to try the game.

When is Enotria: The Last Song's Release Date and On What Platforms Will It Be Available?

  • Its release date is August 21
  • It will be available on PC and PlayStation, with a possible Xbox release later on

Enotria: The Last Song was originally set to release on June 21, but Jyamma decided to push this date back due to Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion releasing on the same day. Once pre-orders are available, Enotria's standard edition will be priced at $50 and its deluxe edition at $60. The deluxe option includes three days of early access, a digital art book, soundtrack, exclusive weapons set, upgrade materials, and access to future DLC.

Despite Jyamma trying to avoid the wake of other major soulslike releases, its late August window has run into another tough competitor in Black Myth: Wukong, which releases a day before Enotria on August 20. Black Myth's trailers have generated plenty of excitement among soulslike fans, and it remains to be seen how Enotria will hold up against it.

For fans who might be disappointed by Enotria skipping an Xbox release, they can still check out the best soulslike games on Game Pass. The service offers plenty of options, like Lies of P, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and many more.
