The Epic Games Store has officially revealed Universe for Sale as its free game for November 27. Based on recent trends, additional surprises may be announced in the coming days, before the next Epic Games Store giveaway kicks off.
December 6 will mark the seventh anniversary of Epic launching its digital storefront to compete with Steam. For as long as it has existed, the platform has been giving away free titles on a weekly basis. Most recently, Epic Games Store users were able to claim $57 worth of games in the form of ScourgeBringer, Songs of Silence, and Zero Hour. That promotion ended on November 20 and was immediately replaced with two new freebies.

Epic Games Store Announces 100% Discount on the $14.99 'Universe for Sale'
Sticking to its usual pattern, the Epic Games Store launched its November 20 giveaway while simultaneously revealing the contents of its next promo, which will feature Universe for Sale. Developed by UK-based Tmesis Studio, the sci-fi adventure game has typically retailed for $14.99 since its November 2023 release. While it occasionally received discounts, it was never before free on any platform. Epic Games Store users will be able to claim Universe for Sale beginning at 11am ET / 5pm CET on November 27. The indie game will be free for exactly one week, until December 4.

The Epic Games Store typically outlines its weekly giveaways all at once. However, it has deviated from this pattern in recent weeks. The November 13 promotion was announced in two stages, with Songs of Silence and ScourgeBringer revealed before Zero Hour. A similar approach was taken with the newly launched November 20 giveaway, with Zoeti announced first, followed by Godzilla Voxel Wars. If this pattern continues, additional surprises may be revealed in the days ahead, before Universe for Sale becomes available to claim.
As for the freebie at hand, Universe for Sale is a sci-fi point-and-click adventure with hand-drawn graphics and animation. It takes place on a space station orbiting Jupiter, where intelligent orangutans keep ports running and there's a mysterious cult with some rather bloody practices running around. According to crowdsourced data, Universe For Sale is approximately five hours long. Two years following its release, the 2023 title holds "Very Positive" user reviews on Steam, based on 92 player impressions.
Although Universe for Sale was never before featured in an EGS giveaway, its publisher, Akupara Games, has been collaborating with the platform for a while now. The Epic Games Store's November 20 freebie Zoeti is also an Akupara-published title, as is Kardboard Kings: Card Shop Simulator, which was free to claim for EGS users in October 2024.
