The Epic Games Store has officially revealed Disco Elysium - The Final Cut as its December 25 free game. The Christmas freebie—that also happens to be one of the highest-rated PC titles ever made—can be claimed until December 26.
As of today, the Epic Games Store's 2025 holiday season giveaway has been running for two full weeks. Its two most recent freebies were Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and The Callisto Protocol, which were offered over 24-hour periods beginning December 23 and 24, respectively.

The Epic Games Store's The Callisto Protocol giveaway has now been replaced with a free offer of Disco Elysium - The Final Cut. This is the first time ever that the critically acclaimed RPG is being given away to EGS users. A Brief Intro to Disco Elysium, Epic's December 25 Freebie
Originally released in October 2019, Disco Elysium is a narrative-driven RPG with a vast sea of meaningful choices and immense replay value. Its protagonist is an amnesiac cop who partied a little too hard—hence the amnesia—and needs to deal with the consequences of his actions, while simultaneously trying to solve a weird murder case in a complex political environment full of memorable characters, contrived plots, and even some sci-fi elements. While it's inherently an RPG, it doesn't have much in the way of combat, with experience points used for leveling instead being earned through dialogue and investigation. Disco Elysium received widespread praise for its eloquent writing, which consistently nails a distinctive, tragicomic tone befitting a story about an amnesiac "hobocop," to use the game's own jargon.
With a 92 average rating on OpenCritic (89 for the Final Cut version), Disco Elysium remains one of the highest-rated PC games ever made. In addition to its confident prose, it earned praise for its expressionist-inspired art style, unique skill system that partially revolves around a "thought cabinet" (requiring certain passive traits to be internalized before they can be used), and extensive replayability driven by numerous branching questlines. Six years after its release, Disco Elysium is still widely cited as a seminal RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play. It is also by far the highest-rated title featured in Epic's ongoing holiday promotion.
